"I'm gonna get some air, are you coming?" I heard a faint trustworthy voice query. A deep hum in disagreement sounded. I tried to pry my eyes open, yet to no avail. "You've been here since Thursday. That's not healthy, Oscar." The same voice coaxed. Oscar sighed deeply.

He removed his hand from our entwined hands, causing the warmth that rested upon mine to blow away with the faint chill in the room. "I'll be right back, little hombre. If there is anything wrong, call me on the phone I gave you. Vale?" Oscar questioned softly. A child like voice muttered an 'okay' before the sound of a door being shut floated into my ears.

Confusion quickly submitted itself into my consciousness. Oscar only called one person by the name 'little hombre.' One.

Was it really possible?

I inhaled all of the oxygen I could before exhaling. A faint pain ached in my shoulder as I did so. I managed to ball my hands up into weak fists despite the thumping of muscles. My eyelids finally obeyed and slid back in a slow manner. I quickly closed my eyes as my gaze landed upon the bright LED lights that hung against the ceiling above my bed. After a few blinks, my eyes finally got used to the bright setting.

I dispersed my gaze around the room before my eyes landed on another bed that was placed next to me. A boy I knew all too well held his color pencils in his hand as he organized them. My heart thudded hard against my chest as my breathing quickened. A relief I couldn't seem to translate into words hovered over my heart.

"R- Rico?" I whispered, afraid that if I spoke too loud he would disappear as if it was a dream. His dark thick eyebrows knitted together before he slowly lifted his head, flickering his eyes over to me. His eyes widened and filled themselves with joy as he dropped his pencils on the bed. He pulled his IV out and rushed towards me. "Rico, you can't pull your IV out!" I scolded in a soft voice.

He managed to climb onto my bed and threw himself into one arm of mine. The other arm rested in a sling due to my wounded shoulder. "I don't care. I missed you so much, Sindie." He said while burying his face into the crook of my neck as I held him as close as I could. My lips silently lifted up into a huge smile. "I missed you too, little one." I cooed, placing a kiss on the top of his head.
