(Warning, long AN ahead) Hey, back from the grave once again. I finally got a switch yesterday and I have Splatoon 2! I even got the octo expansion and finished it the same day I got it. (Which is the same day as when I got the switch... =u=) If anyone wants to add me, this is my friend code-
SW-3592-3386-9993 (I need friends ^^") Let's play together some day, yeah?

Also, since you need a social media account to post something in Splatoon 2 (which is sort of weird)- Mirimo now has a twitter account! If you want to see it, I'll link it in another chapter. I'll be doing random posts on there, but it'll be as if Miri was doing it. Woot, aren't I original? =u="

So, updates might be a little slow since I'm playing a lot of Splatoon 2. >_>"

•We Need A Pet, Shiro•

A dark blue-haired inkling sighed exasperatedly for the umpteenth time as she watched her soulmate coo at another relatively cute animal.

With a small squeal, Mirimo held a small bunny in her arm, "Shiro! Look at this cutie! We should get her!" The exasperated inkling just shook her head,

"Miri, do you really think you can take care of a pet? You get really busy playing turf war, y'know." Shiro argued with a roll of her eyes, making Mirimo pout,

"They can stay at home? So they can sleep, or we- we can take them with us!" The pink-haired inkling argued back quickly, stumbling over her words slightly.

The two of them stared at each other, the shopkeeper nervously sweating as they watched the couple. Shiro was the first to break the silence,

"Miri, hun, that's a really bad idea. Taking a bunny to a turf war match is incredibly dangerous! Not to mention, probably against the rules." She face-palmed with another sigh,

"B-But, we need a pet, Shiro!" The pink-haired inkling whined, "To keep us company."

"I've already got you to keep me company, and you're already a handful." Shiro quipped, a small smug smirk on her face as she watched Mirimo huff. Defeated, the pink inkling nodded and gave the bunny back to the nervous shopkeeper,

"Maybe next time, little guy." She mumbled, sadly walking out of the shop with Shiro hot on her heels,

"Now that we have that sorted, how about we go play turf war?"

"I don't feel like it..."

Surprised, the blue inkling looked at Mirimo, "You're always so excited to go turf war-ing." She shrugged,

"Eh, maybe not today." She remarked, "Can we do something else?" Shiro thought for a moment,

"Let's go grab something to eat." She spoke up as the other nodded, and with a swift movement- Shiro grabbed Miri's hand and left to a nearby ice-cream stand. Both of them found a small table and sat, quietly eating their ice-creams,

"It's because of the bunny, right?" The sudden question startled the inkling as she paused from eating her ice-cream,

"N-No, it's just... um..." Her horribly lying skills showed evidently as she stuttered slightly and fiddled with her melting ice-cream. Shiro narrowed her eyes, seemingly seeing right through her,

"Miri..." She spoke again in a more insistent tone, an eyebrow quirked,

"F-Fine, yes. Yes it is. I just really want to have a pet so we raise it together! Like... Like a child. Something we can't... really have." She mumbled the last parts of her sentence, almost tearing up as she sniffled.

Shiro's face immediately softened, "Oh, Mirimo..." She whispered softly, reaching out to place her hand on her soulmate's shoulder. They never really talked about children, just joking about "what if they could".

With a small debate finally concluded in her mind, Shiro put her hand under Mirimo's almost crying face- tilting her head to look at her, "Hey, let's go get the bunny." She spoke with a small smile.

Mirimo's face seemed to go through several expressions, namely revolving around surprise and then it finally seemed to click for her,

"R-Really?" She asked gently in disbelief. The nod she received in answer was enough for her to drop her ice-cream and almost tackle Shiro over the small table, pressing her lips against hers on impulse. Shiro, too, dropped her ice-cream, cheeks reddening in embarrassment before she kissed back in defeat.

Panting, Mirimo pulled away with happy tears falling down her face,

"H-Hey, what was that all about!? And s-stop crying, we're getting the damn bunny." Shiro stuttered as she looked to the side to hide her dark crimson blush,

With a chuckle, Mirimo replied, adding a cliche  term of endearment within the reply, "They're happy tears, sweetheart. It was on impulse, sorry." She smiled sheepishly, to which Shiro rolled her eyes again,

"Whatever, but this is my payment for that bunny." She then brought the pink inkling into another kiss, her eyes shut tightly as the blush on her cheeks grew a more darker shade of red at her bold move.

Happily, Mirimo returned it the kiss- a small blush appearing on her face because of the contact. She seemed to brighten up quite significantly and Shiro didn't seem to mind getting the bunny, if it meant her soulmate would be happy.

~~~ Extended Ending ~~~
As they arrived back at the store, the shopkeeper immediately tended up. It was like they were waiting for a bomb to explode inevitably, or in other words- for the two to start arguing again,
"Hey, we would like the bunny from before please." Shiro calmly stated, to the keeper's surprise,
"R-Right, I'll g-go get him." They quickly fled to grab the bunny. As they emerge back into view, Shiro took a closer look. It was a deep black with glowing, blue eyes that seemed wide and innocent. Like a child. It had a small pink bow tied around the neck, which matched the pink hints hidden in their innocent, deep blue orbs.
With an excited coo, Mirimo held the bunny close, nuzzling her nose against the bunny's own. It looked incredibly wholesome. The small animal tilted it's head towards Shiro, before holding a paw out- seemingly calling for her.
With a sigh, Shiro walked closer- feeling the warmth from the small paw on her shoulder. The dark blue inkling's heart melted as she saw Mirimo giggle with happiness seemingly radiating off her. She quickly paid for the bunny and everything else they needed, holding it in a very large bag by her side- although Shiro seemed unaffected by the weight.
As they walked back, she used her other arm to carefully wrap around Mirimo's shoulder, walking close to her as the pink-haired inkling held the bunny in the middle of them.
It was like they were a family.
