My first day of detention is today.

My first class is with Mrs. Peterson, which I wouldn't mind if I didn't sit beside Jeffery. Let's just say he's not the brightest kid. I went into the class and sat down even though class didn't start for another ten minutes. Next thing I know Jeffery was sitting in the desk beside me. He was looking around like he has no idea where he is. Finally I asked "Jeffery, what's wrong?"

"My pencil" He answered panicking "it's gone." I didn't even have to look around to know where it was.

"Ummm... Jeff, it's behind your ear..."

"Oh, Thanks!" He answered relieved. This happens almost every day and it's always in the same spot.

The class started 5 minutes later than it should have.

"Hello, grade 10's!" Mrs. Peterson greeted. "We will be having a pop quiz today!"

Almost everyone in the class groaned. I didn't know you could have a quiz in photography. Good thing I listen in class. When I got my paper I knew the majority of the answers and the test was also multiple choice.

The rest of the day flew by fast, that's until I have detention with Mr. Telenor. He is a peculiar teacher. Just think of one those crazy scientists that find everything fascinating and put a bunch of weird pictures on the walls that he finds intriguing. Yup, that's the type of person Mr. Telenor is. Yesterday, he put a picture of a cat with six legs on the roof of his class. Don't ask how he got it up there.

"Peyton!" Mr. Telenor said enthusiastically "What got you in detention?"

"I called Mr. Goldenberg's class boring..."

"Well I can't blame you for that, between you and me I find him boring too." He said in a whisper.

I chuckled and sat down. I sat in Mr. Telenor's class for an hour and a half just looking at all of the pictures on his walls, which were surprisingly very interesting to look at.

When I got home I got a text from my friend Tammin saying "Want to hang out?". I replied. "Sure." quickly then headed to my room to get ready, when I found a stack of about ten empty boxes smack dab in the middle of my room with a note on top saying "Please start to pack your things tonight xoxo Mom and Dad." I slowly took my phone and texted Tammin "Actually, I can't tonight. Sorry." I walked up to the stack and grabbed a box. I started to pack the clothes I probably won't wear for the next couple of weeks, then continued to pack all of my collectables, my piano books and books and my art supplies. Then I stopped by my windowsill and stuffed the cushion in one of the boxes. I sat on my bed and played on my phone. I really need a break. I went through my feed on Instagram and twitter. I went through my email to check if I had anything new. I saw an email address I didn't recognize. I guess my dad's email is attached to mine. Of course my curiosity got the best of me and I opened the message. It read:

Hello, Mr. Lutsen

This is a confirmation message for Peyton Lutsen's coming to Connecticut's home for children and teenagers with disabilities and sicknesses. Peyton is expected to arrive June 29. If you have any questions or regards, please don't hesitate to ask.

Mr. Vanderman.
