"Come on (Y/N)! Get up! We're leaving in five hours!" I open my eyes slowly as I hear my best friend Leona yell my name. 'Five hours-' I think to myself. 'I could've slept longer.' I shuffle out into the living room I share with Leona and groan. "You know I totally could've slept longer." Leona is on the couch eating a bowl of cereal. "Yeamph-"She replies with a half full mouth, "-but I thought we could go see your parents before we go! I miss my other mom and dad." She finishes and pouts. Damn she knows I can't resist the pout. "Fine~" I reply, dragging out the 'i.' She jumps up from the couch and does a little happy dance. I laugh as she dances. "I sometimes forget you're nineteen like me. Sometimes I think you're still thirteen." We continue to bicker back and fourth for a while before getting ready to see my parents.
Leona and I are leaving our small New York town to go to Seoul, South Korea for a week. Shopping, sightseeing, and visiting our high school friend Rosa, who moved there to become a dance instructor, which she has done successfully. She invited us to stay in her three bedroom apartment if we could afford the tickets to Korea, so we decided to go. I'm quite excited, seeing that I've been wanting to go, and I know how to speak Korean since my wonderful mother is trilingual and knows Korean, (along with French and broken Spanish.) I really can't wait!
"Oh hey sis.." I'm taken aback as I'm greeted by my older brother (b/n.) "You're visiting too?" I ask him, tilting my head in confusion. He laughs and nods as he lets Leona and myself in. "Yeah, I had some left over goods from the bakery." Yes, Bakery. He's twenty one years old and already owns a bakery. It'd be an understatement to say that he's an amazing chef and baker. Words can't describe his skill level. Leona eyes the sweets placed on the coffee table as she enters my parents' living room and she speaks. "Damn (b/n) these look good!" My brother laughs as Leona is practically drooling over the sweets. "Help yourself." He says as he seats himself on the couch. "You better save some for your second favorite mom, you brat." My mother comes in from the kitchen laughing. I smile as I hug her tightly, then sit down as Leona gets up to greet her with a gentle hug. "No promises." Leona giggles as she starts picking at the sweets. "Ah, I was wondering if my girls would visit today!" I immediately recognize that that's my father's voice and spring up to greet him. "Dad!" I excitedly yell as I hug him. "Dad Two!" Leona exclaims as she hugs him as well. After we say hello we all sit down and chat while eating the snacks until there's about an hour left until Leona and I have to leave for the airport.
"I was nice that you came to see us before you left (Y/N.)" My mother smiles sweetly. I kiss my mother's cheek as I speak "Hey now- I'll only be gone for a week. I'm not going away forever!" "Come back and see us when you return!" My father says as he pulls me into a hug. I nod then do my secret handshake with (b/n) "I'll stop by the bakery when I get home, make me something cute!" I wink and he rolls his eyes. "Only because I love you." "Yay~ Okay bye everyone!" I wave as I make my way towards Leona's car. We then head back home to pack our suitcases for the week in Korea, then head to the airport. ———————————————— I decided to put something comfy on for the flight, I don't regret it at all.
