The first time Jisoo saw Jennie it wasn't like those cliche scenes you see in a movie where everything goes slow motion with all those sparkly things around her looking like a total goddess.
She was just an average costumer walking towards her and as she stood right in front of Jisoo her lips formed into thin line as her eyes directed towards the menu concentration visible on her face.
Jisoo couldn't decide whether to snap the girl out of her thinking or she'd let her be but working in a cafe is quite hectic as orders kept coming in and Jisoo would rather do stuff that's worth her time than waiting for the latter to choose a drink.
"Uhh miss what would you like to get?"
Jisoo said carefully not to sound too arrogant or too annoyed to this girl who had been zoning out. It even seemed like she wasn't reading or paying attention to the menu as when she heard the voice she slightly jolted alert of her surrounding and looked at Jisoo with wide eyes realising behind her is a long line of people. Not realising she had been zoning out for quiet awhile.
"Uh oh umm sorry but I'll get an Americano"
Jisoo clenched her teeth as she flashed the girl in front of her a tight smile clearly annoyed, it took a lot of self control to not yell at the girl.
Jisoo touched the screen with more force than the usual and when she diverted her attention back to the girl, she clearly had guilt in her eyes and Jisoo felt bad by this for getting annoyed at the girl.
"That'd be $4.85"
As the girl handed the money Jisoo gladly took it and the girl shot Jisoo an apologetic small smile once again before finding a table Jisoo just smiled back and nodded her head.
Jisoo glanced on her watch and it was already 12'o clock which means she would have her break soon enough. Hearing a ding behind her she knew Lisa was gonna ask her a favour again and before she could even speak Jisoo took the drink and quirked her eyebrow.
"which table?"
"The girl over there near the window"
Jisoo just nodded and started walking towards the girl hearing Lisa yell a thank you while Jisoo just ignored it making the latter pout.
"Here is your order miss"
The girl looked up and it was the same girl at the counter who took long enough to order. She was slightly surprised too but quickly composed herself.
"Ohh thank you... Jisoo-ssi"
The girl said while looking at her name tag she just bowed like any other worker would do and walk away, not until a hand grasp her wrist forbidding her to leave any further.
Jisoo looked at the girl confused and the girl was clearly nervous for some reason. She couldn't look Jisoo straight in the eyes.
"Umm miss?"
"Look I'm sorry about what happened awhile ago I guess I owe you an apology"
"Its fine I'll go back to work now miss if you don't mind"
"Not at all, my name is Jennie"
Jennie placed her hand out and Jisoo stared at it contemplating whether to shake it or not. The fact that this person was a costumer it wasn't appropriate to have some kind of unnecessary interaction really. Not wanting to make the situation more awkward than it already were Jisoo shook it and smiled
"Nice meeting you miss Jennie, I really have to go now it was nice knowing you"
With that Jisoo rushed back and changed into her civilian clothes ready to do some of her agendas for the day since her break lasts for about one and a half hour. She was fortunate enough to have a long break.
1:30 pm
Returning to the cafe it was a lot more hectic than it was in the morning and Jisoo could only sigh thinking about how she needs to work two times harder.
3:00 pm
The cafe was slightly unpacked but there where still people but it wasn't that bad. While cleaning a table Jisoo's eyes suddenly caught the girl's presence it was Jennie. She was still at the same spot for some reason. She'd been in this place for 3 hours.
After cleaning the tables Jisoo returned to the cash register. She sat there silently observing the girl, her brows where knitted, she had a frown on her lips clearly not in a pleasant mood and she kept staring at the phone as if she was waiting for something. Jennie's phone lit up and Jisoo swears she could see sparkles in her eyes but soon enough her face fell. Clearly disappointed.
Jennie stood up and clutched her phone and bag and with that she walks out at the cafe shop with a hint of rush.
