Once off, she hailed a cab and directed it to our apartment.
"Wait. What about my stuff Al?" I ask her confused.
"Oh trust me babe, we're getting your stuff back right now." She said, resuming her unamused expression as she remembered our other errand for the night.
She paid the driver what he needed and we got out as the cab drove away. Alex took out the keys to her Porsche, pressing the button to unlock it as it's lights flashed in obedience to her command.
"Alex. You've been drinking." I tell her sternly.
"Well how else do you suggest we get your stuff back? There wouldn't be enough room in a cab. Now get in." She responds and commands with a raised eyebrow.
I sighed and did what I was told.
"Now where the fuck does this prick of an ex of yours live?" She asks starting the ignition.
I told her his address and she immediately revved away in the direction.

We pulled up outside what used to be my house that Polly now lived in. We got out of Alex's Porsche and knocked on the door.
Polly answered. Larry was clearly too chicken to as per usual.
"Hi Pol! My fiancé here has kindly told me that you refuse to give me back my clothes. I am here to make sure that you do." I tell her sarcastically annoyed.
"If we have all of your clothes, what are you wearing now then?" Polly asks confused as Larry finally comes up behind her.
"She's wearing my clothes." Alex bluntly states and continues, looking Larry dead in the eye,
"Perks of being engaged to another woman, you can double your wardrobe when in need of clothes." She finishes venomously amused.
Larry narrowed his eyes at her and she simply smirked back.
"Can we please come in? I do believe you have stuff that belongs to me." I ask.
They hesitate.
"Oh for God's sake, it's not like we're going to take a while I just want my stuff so I can move back in with Alex, you two can live your lives and we can all continue happily." I say.
Polly looks at me and opens the door wider, letting me in. Alex lingered behind for a bit to glare at them both, letting my words resonate with them.
"Are you trying to show off Vause? Trying to rub in what you can give her that I couldn't?" Larry spits at her, nodding at her Porsche.
Alex was never one to back down from a good comeback opportunity,
"It's what I drive. Not my fault you and your boring life will never be able to buy one. Plus, if I can give Piper a good life, why not? She deserves it after 6 years with you and a year in prison." She spits back.
"Yeah, and whose fault is that?" Larry retorts.
Alex simply glares at him.
The animosity between those two was serious. Love rivals never would get on I guess. Especially when one hated the other for almost taking away the love of her life for good and the other hated the one because he thought she'd stolen his fiancé from him... which I guess, she did.
Polly and I glanced at each other from the sidelines and sighed in sync.
"Will you two just shut up already and help us with Piper's stuff?" Polly asked.
"Alex." I simply said and she moved through the threshold of the door, past Larry, giving him a lingering glare as she walked past him. Him doing the same.
I turned around and found my stuff in black trash liners.
"Oh you've got to be fucking kidding me?" I said, annoyed at the sight.
Alex pouted and twisted her mouth to the side. She was clearly biting her tongue. It took her a while but she finally said something.
"You couldn't have at least packed them in her suitcases for her?!" She asked glaring at Larry.
"I actually can't find your suitcases Pipes." Larry admitted.
"Don't!" I snapped, raising a hand. He knew what I was talking about.
"Sorry, Jesus, Piper then." He sighed.
"What do you mean you can't find them Larry?! Jesus, if you want something done who better to do it than yourself?" I sighed, briskly walking up the stairs and into my old bedroom's closet to retrieve my suitcases.
As I came down the stairs with them, one in each hand, I said,
"They were in the bedroom closet Larry. Gee, you must've looked pretty damn hard." I said sarcastically, laying them on the coffee table and emptying my clothes into them, not caring if they weren't folded.
"You really are something aren't you?" Alex snapped at him.
"Alex, leave it, it's fine." I tell her, finishing packing and zipping up my suitcases.
"Pipes, I'm sorry, but seriously?! He wasn't even going to give you your suitcases back! What were you planning Larry? Really?" She continued to snap at him.
Something then clicked with me, I made sure Polly eventually left the room before I said it.
"Were you trying to keep my stuff in the hopes I'd come back to you?" I asked him.
His eyes widened like a deer in the headlights.
"Oh wow." I said, picking up my suitcases and leaving. Alex offered to help,
"Here, Pipes, let me help you." She said going in to take them from me.
"No, Al babe, it's fine. I just want to go home." I told her so she gave me her keys instead since her car had this 30 second lock time limit. I unlocked her car again and opened the trunk, putting in my suitcases. I closed it and went back in to retrieve my future wife from yet another argument with my ex fiancé.
"Mark my words Larry. With what you did to Piper, FUCKING her best friend, I'm surprised she even speaks to you let alone go near you. If I ever catch you trying to work your way back in to her life and ruin my engagement to her that I've been dreaming about for 10 years, I swear to God." Alex threatens him coldly.
I came up behind her and placed a hand on her shoulder, intentionally showing Larry my new engagement ring. Proving and emphasising her point.
"Alex babe, let's go. It's late." I say kissing her on the cheek and sliding my hand down her arm to hold her hand to lead her out.
She lets me lead her and I shout,
"Pol?! We're leaving!" To which Polly then emerged having noted the coast was clear.
"Alright, Pipe, I'm so sorry. I tried to get Larry to come to your place with your stuff but he point blank refused Alex's offer." She said softly and apologetically so only I would hear.
"It's fine Pol, you're still invited to the wedding if you want to come, BOTH of you." I say looking at Larry and continued,
"I want there to be no hard feelings. Larry, Alex." I said sternly looking at them both.
"Agreed." Alex said locking eyes with Larry.
"Fine by me." Larry said, returning Alex's icy green glare.
"I mean it." I said to which Alex plastered on a smile at Larry which took him by surprise.
"Oh Jesus, right Alex I'm getting you out of here. Bye you two." I said pulling Alex away.
"Bye Pipe." Polly apologetically smiles and shuts the door.
