[Aiden Above]

The two were silent as they sat in the back of a taxi cab, the sound of raindrops hitting the windows and the driver humming softly with the car radio. Landon sat as far away from Aiden as he could, avoiding eye contact as Aiden stared longingly, apologizing with his eyes over and over again. The taxi driver had tried making a joke about 'the elephant in the car' but Landon refused to show any emotion and Aiden just didn't understand.

The car ride was painfully slow and when they finally reached Landon's apartment he nearly sprinted out of the car and into the apartment building, not even shutting the door behind him.

"Friendship drama huh?" The taxi driver chuckled as Aiden pulled out his wallet to pay the fee.

"No," Aiden stated flatly.

"Eh- brother drama?" The taxi driver questioned awkwardly.

"He's not my brother," Aiden mumbled, practically shoving the money into the man's face, "he's mine." He said in a low voice, before turning around and heading into the building, leaving the taxi driver with chills running down his spine.

"Lan?" Aiden shouted into the dark apartment, all the lights still off and rain pouring through the open windows. Aiden sighed and walked over to shut the windows and flipped the light switch to fill the tiny loft with a soft light.

Aiden flinched as a loud knock sounded from the door. He quickly turned to open it, in hopes Landon had just gotten locked out. Much to his disappointment, Landon wasn't at the door but a tall redheaded man, he seemed to be about twenty.

"Who are you?" The man tilted his head and crossed his arms, staring at the boy in front of him, a boy with eyes almost darker than his black hair.

"Who the fuck are you?" Aiden snapped back, stepping forward, realizing the man had about five inches on him, Aiden felt small and he didn't like that feeling.

"Woah, calm down," The man chuckled, putting his hands up in surrender, "just here to see Landon about watching my cat this weekend."

Aiden gasped as a small black kitten waltzed into the apartment as if he owned the place, walking right past Aiden, not even giving him a second glance. The man chuckled and called to his cat who immediately came running back, he then scooped the little animal up into his arms.

"Can I just drop him off here? Landon already has the food set up and I'm kinda' in a rush." The man smiled, wincing as the kitten jumped out of his arms and clawed its way up his chest. Aiden nodded silently, keeping his eyes focused on the cat.

"Great!" The man clapped, pulling the kitten off his shirt and handing it to the raven-haired boy, "I'll be back Monday! Tell Landon thanks!" The man yelled while jogging down the hallway back to his own apartment. Aiden almost closed the door when he heard Landon's voice. Aiden poked his head out the door to see Landon giving the man a hug. Aiden's hair stood up on his neck as rage boiled from within him. With all the control he could muster, Aiden walked into the apartment and softly shut the door behind him, Landon had been so patient with him since he got back and Aiden should do the same. Aiden gently put the cat on the counter before sitting down to stare at it.

"I was just at your apartment to see if you could still watch Kitty but your friend answered the door and took her for me, is that okay?" Kenny chuckled, staring down at Landon, adoration in his eyes.

"What?" Landon laughed nervously, his face paling and chills crawling down his spine.

"That's okay, right? By the way your friend was looking at Kitty I swore he was a cat person." Kenny grinned nervously, noticing Landon's horrified expression.

"No." Landon whispered, his hands starting to tremble again. "Aiden!" Landon shouted as he ran down the hall, stopping at his door and trying to unlock it with his key, his hands shaking tremendously.

"Landon! What's going on?" Kenny questioned, worry beginning to take over. Landon didn't answer as he unlocked the door and swung it open.

"Aiden!" He yelped, taking the kitten off the counter and practically throwing it into Kenny's arms. "I can't watch your cat anymore, I'm sorry." He said, his voice shaky.

"Aiden, I'm sorry if I-"

"TAKE KITTY AND LEAVE!" Landon screamed, his face pale and his eyes wide. The red headed man took one last glance at the boy sitting at the counter, he shuddered as the boy glared right back at him with those dark eyes, he held something unpredictable in them. Kenny then quickly turned away and shut the door behind him, leaving Landon and Aiden in silence.

"I wasn't going to do anything," Aiden said quietly, "I was just waiting for you to get back." He said, caution in his voice.

"I don't believe you." Landon exhaled, before starting to his room.

"Where were you?" Aiden asked calmly.

"Smoking," Landon stated.

"You don't smoke."

"I do now."

"I don't believe you," Aiden replied smugly, following Landon as he stomped to his room.

"You son of a bi-" Landon turned around but was stopped in mid-turn, as a pair of soft lips pressed against his and two long arms embraced him into a warm hug. At first, he tensed up and tried to pull away but Aiden held him tight and before he knew it, Landon had melted into the kiss he had been waiting for. Since Aiden had gotten back from the mental hospital they hadn't had time to do this. To kiss each other with no one else watching or judging, or the tension too awkward to bear.

"I'm sorry," Aiden sniffled, burying his face in Landon's neck.

"I know you are." Landon laughed through tears, "It's gonna be tough for you to adjust but I love you and I know you're trying." Landon's heart warmed up as he felt Aiden smile against his neck.

Landon laughed as Aiden lifted his head and kissed him on the forehead, still holding him tightly.

"You really weren't going to hurt Kitty?" Landon whispered as he placed his forehead against the slightly taller boy's.

"I promise," Aiden whispered back, looking into Landon's eyes, "where were you?"

"I dropped my key on the way in and had to go back and get it," Landon mumbled, embarrassment in his voice. Aiden laughed and kissed Landon on the lips before running his fingers through his curly golden hair.

"You're so fucking precious." He sighed quietly.

"And?" Landon smiled, looking into Aiden's eyes with content.

"And you're mine." Aiden laughed before swinging him around and pulling him down on to the couch. Landon fell on top and he grinned before placing his head on Aiden's chest and closing his eyes. He was so happy Aiden was back. Aiden was his world and it had been so hard without him. If only it wasn't so hard with him as well.

Aiden sighed with content and closed his eyes. He had missed this so much. He missed this more than anything in the entire world. Being able to hold Landon and not having to worry about anyone taking him away. Aiden began to doze off to the sound of Landon's soft breathing and soon, he was fast asleep.
