Song: Roxette - Listen to Your Heart

"So why are you avoiding him?" Mist pushed as we made out way down the gray corridor.

I grunted under my breath before answering. I knew she was going to bug me about it as soon as she heard about it through the grapevines. "Because Mist. I messed up."

She grabbed my arm, spinning me around, eyes wide. "How did you mess up? You said it was the best date you ever went on! Best date doesn't ever translating to someone screwing up!" She exclaimed oblivious to how I was feeling.

"It was!" I exclaimed, but quickly lowered my voice. The gray corridor was the office hallway and I knew that there had to be at least a few of the castle's servants working on something important around here. I didn't want to disrupt them, and I definitely didn't want them to hear Mist's and my conversation.

"However I made a deal that I wouldn't just fall for him. I can't, matter of fact I won't get hurt again Mist." I frowned at her, my calm fascade finally crumbling. "I just can't get hurt again okay, I just can't let myself go through that." I sighed, running a heavy hand through my hair.

Mist looked at me understandingly hearing some of the pain I had managed to conceal over the months surface. "Then just take you time, I guess." She nodded. I could tell she wanted to add more, but chose just to keep her mouth shut. It was a gesture that I was thankful for.

Not saying anything else, I turned around and continued walking. I was trying to avoid Ike, but ironically today I had to see him. He was still teaching me how to control and work with my powers. I loved learning what I was capable of, so I knew I couldn't avoid him even if I wanted.

Suddenly, I stopped when I noticed a door open. Not just any door though, Zotar's office door. The same door he kept shut and locked was now just unguarded, opened, practically calling for me. After glancing around the corridor making sure it was just Mist and I, I shuffled to the door. Cautiously, I peered inside the ominous room.

"Avril what are you doing?" Mist asked when I slowly walked into his office, eyes scanning the large space. I didn't know what I was doing, I just had this weird feeling.

"What does it look like?" I shot her a devilish smile, "exploring." I smirked wickedly at her which only earned me a frown in return.

"I don't know about this Av...", Mist begin looking around, fiddling with her hands. Little Miss. Goody Two shoes was getting cold feet about snooping, I wasn't surprise though. I'm the one who is always breaking the rules after all and Mist is the one that usually gets pulled along for the ride. She never complained though. We all knew she need a good thrill in her life.

"Oh come on." I laughed lowly, pulling a black wooden drawer open. My eyes lit up when I saw what was in them. Taking the object out, I twirled the fluffy handcuffs around my finger. "Oh la la, your parents are kinky girl."

I laughed when Mist's face scrunched up in a mixture of disgust and disbelief before she burst out laughing.

Deepening my voice, I mocked what I believed Zotar would sound like...basically a deep, scratchy unappealing sound. "You've been a bad girl Harmony," I narrowed my eyes and smirked seeing the disturbed expression on Mist's face.

"Ugh stop gross, I don't ever want to think of parents in that...way."

I laughed. "Oh come on. It's the circle of life and it moves us all..."

I was busy moving my hips with my hands up in the air juggling the handcuffs and doing some weird snake dance with my body when Mist cut me off.

"I don't care if it's the circle of  life! My parents are too old to be trying to bring anymore life into this circle okay?" She clearly had lost her patience. I suppressed a chuckle and stopped singing my Lion's King song.
