I don't want to open my eyes. I dont want to face reality. I just want to sleep. That is all I could think of this morning and that was all I knew to be true. Tanner was next to me turning the pages of a book he couldn't read. I reached over slowly seeking the warmth of his hand but I rested mine upon his leg. He looked up at me and I tried to smile.

"Whats wrong?" he smiled and I glared at him.

"At least I'm trying." his joy faded into sympathy.

"You have a beautiful smile. Thank you for giving your joy a chance." I looked up at the sealing and tried to sleep again. He was still there when I woke up.

"What are you reading?" he looked up a shrugged.

"Who knows?" I glanced at the cover and smiled.

"That is Ley's favorite book, I would read it to him all the time. I think you were his favorite teacher because you can't read." I laughed as he blushed.

"I can read!... No not really." I laughed more and took the book from his hand. "The title is 'little flakes of green' I can show you how to read it if you want"
