"Ok, I'll inform her of the changed time. Is there anything else mam?"
"That would be all Miss. Thank you."
"You're welcome and have a nice day." Paalam niya.
Pagkababa niya ng telepono ay agad niyang kinuha ang kanyang organizer at kumatok sa pintuan bago siya pumasok.
"Miss Maple, I am just reminding you of your meeting later this afternoon. You have a quick meeting with Mr. Morris at three o'clock and with Ms. Esquivel at four. And the location is both at the DeLuca Mall." Mataman niya itong tiningnan kung nakikinig nga ba ito sa kanya dahil napapansin niya ang madalas nitong pagkakatulala.
"Ahmmm.. I thought I'll be meeting with Ms. Esquivel at around 1pm?" Nagtatakang tanong nito.
"She just called a few minutes ago to re-schedule the meeting at a later time because she has a lunch date with her fiance." Sagot niya at bahagyang kumunot ang noo sa naging itsura nito kaya't maagap niya itong nilapitan. "Are you okay Miss? You look pale. Do you want me to call a doctor to check on you?"
"No need for that. I'm fine. Maybe just lack of sleep I guess." Sagot nito habang sinapo saglit ang noo. "Is that all Naya?"
"Yes Miss. That would be all. I'll leave you now." Then she heads towards the door when Maple calls her name.
"Ahmm Naya."
"Yes, Miss? Need anything?"
"Yeah! I want you to come with Mr. Miller to Cebu this coming Thursday. We have a meeting with Mr. DeLuca, because his newly built mall will be opening soon and he wants our services. I cannot join Linc because of the Esquivel account so I need you to accompany him. Make sure you bring everything he needs for his presentation, okay?"
Pagkasabi nito sa kanya ay nakaramdam agad siya ng kaba. Hindi niya alam kung papaano sasabihin dito na hindi siya maaring sumama dahil sa personal na dahilan. Hindi talaga sila pupwedeng magkita ni Rig. Siguradong sigurado siya na makikilala siya nito.
Napansin niyang kumunot ang noo ng kausap. Marahil ay nabasa na nito sa mukha niya ang pagkabahala.
"You look worried, why? Is it about Linc?"
Muli na naman siyang nagulat sa tanong nito. May alam ba ito sa sitwasyon nila? Nahahalata na ba nito ang mala-roller coaster nilang relasyon?
Nag-aalala rin naman siya sa totoong namamagitan sa kanila ng binata, pero mas ikinakabahala niya ang posibleng pagkikita nila ni Rig DeLuca.
"Ahmm, I don't think Mr. Miller will like that idea of me, joining him in Cebu. I know that he doesn't like me here. And if it weren't because of you, I'm sure he fired me already months ago." Iyon na lang ang inisip niyang sagot at baka sakaling hindi na siya pasamahin.
"Don't worry, he won't do that. Linc is one of the nicest guy I have ever met. Maybe he's not in the mood sometimes but he will never hurt a woman. I'm sure of it." Maple said smiling.
"Maybe not physically." She whispered, not sure if Maple heard her.
"Hey don't worry, just do good on your job and nothing can go wrong. Okay? Are we clear on that Naya?" Tanong nito.
"Yes Miss." Sagot niya at sabay buntong hininga. Ngumti muna siya rito bago lumabas ng opisina nito.
Napapikit na lang siya ng mariin ng maupo sa kanyang pwesto.
