I turned around again.
"What the heck is that supposed to mean!?" I said, the pitch of voice getting very shrill. Taehyung seemed to momentarily lose his balance. His brother, who had been fidgeting, muttered something quickly and ran back into his kitchen.
"I asked you a question!" I said, almost to the point of shrieking. He looked at me and then at his feet.
"Nothing! I just told you never to come back! Why are you still standing here?!" he said, trying to regain command.
"Agh! You know what? Whatever!" I threw my hands up. "Whatever!"
~~~
Finally we were away, sitting on a bench outside my apartment. I was leaning on Namjoon's shoulder, his coat around my arms.
I had explained everything to Namjoon on the ride home and he had understood. I was so grateful to him that a few tears had escaped from me.
"So, what's that guy's problem?" Namjoon asked quietly a few minutes later.
"He's had a rough past," I stated. I felt Namjoon nod. "But he's rude and ungrateful," I added.
"Oh,"
"Yeah,"
A few more minutes passed of us just basking in the cool, night breeze.
"I should probably go,"
The air around us had filled with awkwardness.
"I'm sorry," I said, we both stood up,
"I'm sorry too, I should have given you the choice for the date venue," he said with a wink. I couldn't even smile back.
"No, I'm sorry, I ruined our date, I screwed everything up," I said. Namjoon sighed gently and tucked a piece of my hair behind my ear.
"It's a good thing I like you so much," he whispered. I let out a short breath. He leaned in and gave me a gentle peck on the cheek. I handed him his coat.
"Thank you, Joon," I said. He caressed where he kissed me with his thumb, took his coat and then turned to his car.
"Bye! See you tomorrow!" he said through the window as he drove off. I waved,
"Bye,"
~~~
I was lying in bed thinking about the day's events.
My ex-boyfriend Jung Hoseok had pretty much tried to harrass me, Namjoon confessed he had feelings for me and I had yet another encounter with the 'great and powerful' Kim Taehyung.
It doesn't make me feel any better that your with some guy! Taehyung's words rang through my head. What had he meant by that? A weird, fluttery feeling formed in my stomach, my chest tightened.
"Aish, he's going to make me lose my mind," I murmured to myself as I clicked on Jimin's number.
"Hey, wassup, Mims?" Jimin's happy voice flitted through my phone. I snorted at my new nickname, Mims.
"Huh, nothing, except that Kim Namjoon - you know, my colleague - asked me out on a date tonight, and guess where we went? K Cafe,"
"Oh wow, K Cafe. And, no, I don't know Kim Namjoon, who is he? How old is he? How tall is he?" Jimin said, firing questions at me like an overprotective older brother. I chuckled.
"Well, he's my colleague, I think he's a bit older than you, and he's actually quite tall," I said. Jimin humphed.
"Okay, if he tries to hurt you, lemme know, I'll come beat him up,"
"You should bring Kookie, he'll probably do a better job," I teased. Jimin scoffed sarcastically and muttered something. I could just picture him, sitting on his bed, pouting. "Ah, Jiminie, don't worry, he's a nice guy," I said. I heard Jimin yawn.
"Okay, well, I'm so tired, I gotta hit the bed, kay?" he said, letting go of another yawn.
"Okie, Chims, sleep well, we'll talk tomorrow," I decided against telling him about Hoseok.
"Alright, goodnight Mi-young,"
I was left in silence, but I could still hear Kim Taehyung's shouting.
It doesn't make me feel any better that your with some guy!
Your with some guy!
Some guy.
