Rey sat by her small fire at the rebel base camp. She let the orange flames warm her palms. She sighed and readjusted on her spot on the brown earth. She felt her saber on her side. There was this feeling stirring inside her. It was dark, and warm and strangely hopeful, like she really didn't believe she was feeling it once more. "Rey." She should have been on her feet instantly. But there was something, some little feeling that told her not to. "Ben." As she said those words she couldn't believe them. "Where is your precious first order?" He took a deep breath. "They think I'm taking you hostage." She should have been alarmed. After all the times he betrayed her, after all he had done to her, she trusted him. "But I'm not. I'm here to talk." She indicated the spot across from her with her hand. He sat down wearily. "You said you could feel good inside me. Is it still there?" She focused. She tried. She wanted to feel it, that flicker of hope. That slight feeling of sunshine, in a dark shell. "No." Her voice wavered. "Why would you want it to be?" He stared into her eyes. "My life. The same old lie that being in power, you can have everything you ever wanted. But that is just a lie, I now know. " "And what do, the great Supreme leader of the first order, not have?" He paused. "You." She froze. She held her hand out and he touched her finger tips. She was in a black space. Deprived of all hope. She trudged through looking for something to guide her out. It was calling her. She followed it. There was no direction, no sense of where it ended, where it began. She followed it, but the darkness seeped in. She couldn't fight it. It was to strong. No. She was stronger. The light was stronger then the dark. She could fight it. She forged forward, each step a battle in a raging war. She continued. The light was there. It was closer with each step. It was closer. She found it. A ball of warmth and golden light. Crisp, raw. Ancient artifacts of the past. She could unlock the light. She could save him. She could escape. She moved her hand forward. She retracted it. It was up to him. He had to break free. She opened her eyes. "It's there." "Can you help me?" She waited listening to the silence of the night. "Yes. But you must break through. " "Why?" "You are the one letting the dark side in. You have to push it away. Let the light shine. Destroy the first order with me. Listen to your heart Ben." He stood up. And turned away. "Rey. I am Kylo Ren. You will know true power." He turned and ignited his saber. She did the same. "Don't do this. You know what you can do. The light is still there." "The light  may be, but MY will to keep it is gone. " he charged. She met his blade. He spun she parried. There blades collided. She slid underneath him and put her blade by his neck. "Yield." "One day." He pushed we back with the force. She got up. He was gone.
