" I wanna show you something. Get your shoes on" he tells me as I walk down the stairs. I put on jeans and a sweatshirt , purely because he doesn't have on his uniform either.

" Why are you doing this" I laugh, as I sit on the stairs and grab my shoes.

" Cos I like you" he tells me smiling.

" Is this just an excuse to get in my pants?" I question him, raising one of my eyebrows and standing up.

" Cause look I don't want to be one of your many hook..." I frantically start, but am cut off by him grabbing my hand.

" Just shut up and let's go" He laughs, pulling me out the door as I grab my keys off the windowsill.

" I still don't see why you're doing this" I tell him, as he drags me out onto the pavement. But he doesn't reply, he just laughs before picking up his pace.

" don't do this often do you?" He questions me, turning his head back to look at me.

" Can't say it's an everyday thing" I shrug, as he begins to slow down, which is good because I was just about to break a sweat.

"So your saying the most bad thing you've done is accidentally steal a sweet?" He asks me he jumps over the field fence.

We left my uncles house around 15 minutes ago and have just been talking about our lives and arguing ever since.

" What can I say, Rebel without a cause" I shrug, as I begin to climb over the fence too.

"You what?" He asks, grabbing me from my waist and helping me down onto the grass

" thanks, and it's a title of a movie from the 1950s. My mum loved it" I say, as we begin to walk into the field.

" Your mum? Haven't mentioned her yet" he says, looking down at me.

" tend not to" i shrug.

" why's that then" he asks me, still looking down at me but I don't make eye contact with him.

" Lets just say she wasn't a very nice woman" I say, slightly laughing.

" Where she now?" He stops, causing me to stop too.

" Probably Hell. She hung herself. That's why I moved here" I shrug, as I dig my hands in my jumpers pockets.

"I-I'm sorry." He tells me.

"It's fine,  I hated her anyway" I lightly laugh, shrugging my shoulders.

" My mum left when I was small, our Jordan always was her favourite" he tells me, his normal jokey demeanour switching to a more serious, genuine one.

"Still have your dad though right?" I question him.

" can't even hold a job longer than a week. Some dad he is ay?" He slightly laughs.

" I didn't know my dad, knew my mum was pregnant but never bothered." I say, I watch him gulp.

Facial expression changing completely like he's hiding a secret before quickly looking away from me.

" From around here?" He questions, trying not to make eye contact.

" yeah" I sigh.

" the worst of us are" he tells me, as he comes to a stop again and sits down.

" it feels as though people from here dont go to anywhere, just an endless cycle of deadbeat dads and mums who always seem to disappear" he says, as I sit down next to him.

" Don't be like them then, break that stupid mould" I tell him.

" It feels like..." he starts, but I watch his lips move, his eyes watch the sky and I do the one thing that I would never do.

I lean in, lightly kissing his lips but quickly pulling away when I'm not sure how he will react.

He looks me in the eyes for a second, with a confused look on his face, before he crashes his lips back onto mine.

I place my hands onto his face, and he holds onto mine, our eyes shut enjoying the moment.

Our lips  both move in sync for a second, and it's beautiful, but I can't stop thinking about what Missy and Nas said to me yesterday.

The fact he is a player, how he will have sex with any girl. The emotions coarse through my veins, and before I know it, I'm pushing away his face from mine.

" I can't" I say, before lightly pushing his head down and turning my face away.

" I'm sorry" I say before standing up and beginning to walk away

" Annie wait" he says, as I hear him standing up too.

" I'm sorry, Cory" I say, not looking back and walking straight out back the way I came.
