Heart

My heart sees you
And it stops
Frozen, barely breathing
Then it sees you smile
And suddenly its fine

More than fine
Its ecstatic
Bouncing around as fast as it can
Pushing at its cage
Reaching towards you

And every time you say goodbye
It sits on my lungs
Crawls to the bottom of my stomach
Pounds at my chest
Wishing for you again

And then it sees you again
And it freezes.
