kenzie

the familiar scent of electrical smoke and dirt hit me immediately as i entered the subway station.

the chatter of different languages and the blaring of the trains leaving the station filled the air.

people of all ages scurried around me, trying to reach their destinations.

i scanned the crowd for a tiny blond and a tall brunette.

since i'm very tiny myself, i needed to stand on my tippy toes to try and find them.

and being the very clumsy person i am, someone lightly shoved me, and i started falling.

i braced myself, and closed my eyes, waiting to feel extreme pain.

but it never came.

before i hit the ground, a pair of strong arms wrapped themselves around my shoulders, keeping me from falling.

i opened my closed eyes, and slowly turned my head to see who had saved me.

piercing green eyes stared at me with concern as i stumbled to get out of their grip.

both of us, flustered, backed away from each other and awkwardly acknowledged one another.

"hey john"

"hi kenzie"

someone cleared their throat behind him, and there stood a very annoyed lauren.

i pushed past johnny to go squeeze her and started jumping up and down.

"we start HIGH SCHOOL today!"

she stared at me blankly and shrugged her shoulders.

john rolled his eyes at her, and began to walk away from us.

i interlocked arms with lauren, and dragged her to continue following him.

i could not be more excited because hayden was going to meet us on the subway.

the three of us stood in the crowd, waiting for our train to arrive.

as the sun shone through my giant windows, i exited my room

i was always the first one awake, but the second one up

lauren always left very early to go to work

and my parents always stayed in bed late

so that meant every morning i would be alone

i loved making myself a cup of tea, grabbing my lyric book, and watching the sunrise on the balcony

sometimes i even grabbed my guitar and played around with some tunes

i did all that until our housekeeper arrived, and i know it's time to leave

but today was going to be a little different than usual

i was going to be taking the subway to school

before, i had always had a private driver take me

but now, kenzie and lauren convinced me to spend more time with them by riding the train

and hayden begged me as well because he said it was too awkward for him

the horror, spending time alone with those two

but i agreed because i'm a good friend

and because i would do anything for kenzie

and also because lauren threatened me

but no other reason

i waited for lauren outside her workplace, which happened to be very close to the subway entrance

we high five good morning, and walk down the stairs in sync

we look for a tiny kenzie in the crowd of people

we find her, but she doesn't see us

someone then proceeded to lightly touch her, and she fell to the floor

but i was there to catch her

as usual

me and lauren are always there to save her from everything

but what we didn't know was that soon enough, we wouldn't be able to save her

hahahah we love emo johnny. and we also love a cliffhanger :)

ive decided to stop doing goals for each chapter. i will now post the chapter when i feel that it is good enough to post.
