Chapter 16: The End, or, so it seems

Lance sniffled as he walked down the run downed, ruins that was his city, the place held a smell of absolute decay as he slowly walked.

Day 342 *sigh* wandering the streets, few zombies here and there. Umm, Shiro has been found, a few weeks ago as I mentioned in the last diary. He and Allura were absolutely horrified by what they had done. Update: he is healing and getting stronger. We don't know how he escaped from t- them but he was in pretty bad shape. As I mentioned before, Shiro's arm had been replaced by a high tech robot one.
*pause*
We still haven't found Pidge and Matt's dad but their still going strong. Matt has forgiven Shiro and I can sense a bit of chemistry.

Allura has been distant and she's been pretty weak. Got her arm scratched up by one of the zombies. Doesn't look like she has a chance really.

Coran is constantly at it, help around, building us things, he used to be a scientist/ engineer. We have our own electricity. We have no running water though Coran is working on that.

Hunk is good, a bit pale and sickly looking but that's how everyone looks now. He's been on food duty and has been doing a good job with nutrition and stuff. I dunno, never really understood that stuff.

And Keith...

*pauses, voice breaks*

H- *sniffle* his grave was found dug up after one night. It looks like those- those savages clawed him up and- *pause*

there's nothing left. I still have a few of his shirts though. They still smell faintly of him. It helps me sleep at night.

Me... well I've been better. Most of my clothes are pretty dirty and ripped up.

Well that's it, I don't know if this will be my last entry or if there will be more but if I die..

I love you Keith and hope to see you soon.

Lance puts the small camera away and starts to walk back to the house. He didn't walk very far, maybe a few blocks only.

There was a horrible stench in the air. Dried blood slathered about on walls, the floor, anything, broken windows and doors. Boards of wood. Graffiti of those who survived longer than others. And worse of all, the sound. The sound of silence. No birds chirping. No busy cars. No laughter of children playing in the streets. The silence was absolutely deafening. It made people go crazy. Without people here, what was the point?

Lance continued onward, his legs tired, and his heart empty.

Then he heard a small creak. His head snapped right, looking at an open door. A few, disgusting rats scattered away, looking for food. Lance shook his head and sighed, walking again. He then felt a small tap on his shoulder. His eyes went wide as he quickly turned around, hand to his gun, worried that it was a zombie.

The figure in a ripped black shirt, jeans, and slathered in blood stood before him. A mop of black hair flopped down and Lance's eyes widened even more as he look straight into the person's eyes.

Lance's eyes filled with tears as he was met with soft lilac eyes.

"K-KEITH!!" Lance's voice cracked as he ran towards Keith faster than my cousin would towards cake.

Keith had turned back into a full human. He fell into the taller male's arm and started crying like crazy. They stood in each other's arms, crying.

"K-Keith! I- I- I though we-we we lost you!!" Lance stuttered, crying his eyes out.

"I- I'm so sorry Lance! I just-" Keith took a moment and buried his head into Lance's chest, sobbing. "There were so many zombies- and I-"

"Shhh, it's ok, your here now, it's ok."

They eventually made it back to the house, and everyone was grateful, tears were shed, and hugs were shared. Shiro and Allura apologized and gave him a hug, crying loudly.

"How is this even possible?!?" Hunk asked, crying. "You were dead!!"

"Zombies don't actually die" Pidge said, "I mean they're already dead, besides, the bullet didn't actually hit Keith in the heart, he could've survived, I think his body just went into shock and he dug himself out of the 'grave' after he woke up."

After Lance had patched up Keith and everyone had dinner, Lance and Keith retreated to their room and were currently cuddling in the bed.

"Is it true, what you said?" The taller boy asked, looking down at Keith.

"What are you talking about?" He asked.

" You said you love me before you 'died' "

Keith smiled, "Of course it's true-" Lance cut him off with a deep kiss.

"I love you too." He replied.
