I can't remember the first 80s movie I watched, to be honest, but my first memory of a distinctive 80s movie is E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial. A beautiful Steven Spielberg classic.

I hadn't watched it for quite a few years until I watched it again a few months ago

I hadn't watched it for quite a few years until I watched it again a few months ago. I remember it being so scary and intense when I was little, and I was even inspired to try Elliot's thermometer-under-the-lamp trick to get out of school once.

But watching it a few months ago wasn't scary or anything. It was really nostalgic and kinda sad because I get sad about nostalgic things, always wishing I could live in the past again. But it was also super interesting and entertaining to watch the film after having taken somewhat of a film class in school. The fx were endearingly outdated and I love them.

In case you couldn't tell, I love films, and 80s ones at that

In case you couldn't tell, I love films, and 80s ones at that. Spielberg's E.T. came out in 1982. Midget actors and puppets were used to create E.T.'s character, which I didn't know until my dad pointed out how obvious it was at one point that E.T. was a puppet.

Also, Drew Barrymore was so adorable and she is such a queen, I love her

I feel like I'm writing a novel here lol. Maybe I will. Write a novel about movies I like. No one would read it. Except me. For some reason I like reading my own writing. That sounds really self-absorbed, oops. I'm sorry, I'll stop now.
