18. James Potter
It's difficult to separate James from his wife, who was never not by his side in the brief amount of time they were in our lives. Though they were technically tied in score, James edges Lily out just a bit due to the relationships that he had with characters and the legacy he left behind. While Lily's relationship with people like Lupin and Sirius was obvious and important, it is James that they're constantly talking about. It is James that Harry is constantly compared to, James who's memory Harry longs to live up to. It's amazing that a character who spends so little time in the series can have such a profound impact on it's characters.
