"Holy shit..." Hank curses, breathless.
"Come on, we have to keep going!" You usher the older man and continue your pursuit.
"Yeah, yeah... I'll catch up..." He mumbles tiredly.
You decide against waiting for Hank to continue running. Keeping a fast pace, you run as fast as your legs can take you. You jump over random objects in your way and slide past others. You finally come to a corner and swing around it, almost slipping over. You hoped you would intercept the Deviant before it could get any further.
Pulling yourself to a stop from running as fast as physically possible, you skid the tiniest bit. Glancing to your left, you're greeted by the deviant, Connor silhouette wasn't too far behind in the plants.
"Stop right there!" You shout, focused on reaching for your gun. But in the small amount of time it took for you to reach for your gun, you didn't see the android advancing on you. For the second time that day, the deviant shoved you with all its strength. Unfortunately, there wasn't a floor to greet you this time.
Before you knew it, you were hanging over the side of the building. A shriek left your mouth as you held the ledge for dear life. You tried to use your legs to push yourself up and over the wall, but they would only scrape off it pathetically. You couldn't even pull yourself up, someone else would have to grab you; if you didn't fall first that was.
"Hank! Connor!" You cried out for your partners, scared. You could feel the burn in the palm of your hands from the harsh and rugged concrete scratching your skin. Your breathing was heavy, and you felt yourself slipping...

... Before a hand grabbed yours.
Whoever it was, you didn't know, yanked you up. They almost fall backwards but catch you both, staying upright. You slam into them and they save you from landing on the ground.
You clutched onto them, your breath out of control. Panic still held you in a vice grip. You felt sick, you could have died.
You almost did.
"Sergent L/N? It's okay. F/N, I've got you. You're okay." It was Connor, which surprised you majorly. He held you to himself tightly, one hand on your head holding it to his chest and the other on your back. He failed the mission because he had to save you. Tears began to fall from your eyes like a waterfall making you hold onto Connor tighter.
"Y-you saved me." You couldn't help but stutter through your tears. "Why..?" Your question came out as a whisper.
"Just breathe, Y/N. Don't worry about it." He hushed you.
"No!" You interrupt and pull back slightly, staring at his chest. "You saved me, which means the deviant got away." You shake your head a little in disbelief and shift your E/C eyes to his chocolate ones. "I made you fail the mission. Why did you save me?"
His face went from worried to confused, his LED flashing yellow. "Your probability of survival was 36%." His voice stammers. "You would have fallen... I couldn't let you..."
"B-but, why?" You quickly wipe your eyes, trying to stop the tears. You really didn't want to cry in front of him, again.
It was too late for that. You were already crying.
Your heart jumped slightly as he grabbed your hand, stopping your movements. "Because you're my friend, aren't you?" He lets go of your hand slowly, so you let it drop to your side. "You said it yourself, earlier."
Using his thumb, he wiped a stray tear running down your face. "Please, don't cry Y/N..." His action makes your tears instantly stop and your neck and ears burn a crimson red. Butterflies erupt in your stomach like a volcano. Once again, you realise your close proximity to the tall android.
"Ah, fuck. I'm here, I'm here..." Hank wanders from around the corner, puffed. He stops for a second, placing his hands on his knees and gulping in some air. You take this moment to slowly pull away from the android, your eyes fall to the floor.
When the Lieutenant finally catches his breath, he looks up. "Where is he? Did you catch it?" His face morphs into one of confusion when he see's the absence of a certain bird crazy deviant.
"Uh, Lieutenant," Connor says. "I apologise. I did not catch the deviant because the Sergent was pushed over the side of the building. I had to help them up otherwise they would have most likely fallen." He was blunt, this made you flinch.
Oh, that's right. I almost fell off a mini skyrise.
"You what!" Hank turns to you. "Jesus! Are you okay?" He moves in front of you and places his hands on your shoulders.
"Um, yeah. Connor pulled me up, so..." Your voice was quiet, but you offered the old man a small smile. He didn't look convinced but nodded anyway. "Come on, let's go back to the station."
On your walk back to Hanks car, you grab the android's arm and pull him back. "Hey, uh, Connor?"
"Yes, Sergent?"
"I just wanted to say, um, thank you for saving me back there." You take in a nervous breath, still shaken up about almost dying. "You sacrificed the mission for me."
"No problem, Y/N." Connor smiles warmly at you.

Oh, snap. You almost died. I swapped you and Hank only because it helps push along your relationship with Connor. I hope you don't mind. But don't worry, Hanky-poo is glad that Connor saved you too.
To be honest while playing the game, if you didn't save Hank then who even are you? He's my favourite, I had to.
I liked writing this, so I hope you enjoyed!!
Thank you all for reading!
