it had only been two days since grace sent the single, dry text to gus. she hadn't seen him since she left six days ago. her and shiloh slowly reconnected, the two being able to hold a friendly conversation and moving on from the rocky place in their pasts but as grace said, she would not forget what she did, she couldn't. grace called in sick to her shifts over the last week, she couldn't really tell them what was actually happening. shiloh came into grace's empty and boring bedroom, the only signs of her left being some old writing on the wall from when she was a teenager, and some stains on the carpet from her various food and makeup spills "are you gonna stop moping and go see him soon?" shiloh asked grace "huh?" grace questioned "grace there's no doubt that you love him, and i support that. you guys obviously have a bond that you've never had with anyone else and that shouldn't be broken if it doesn't have to be broken. go see him, please he's probably worried sick about you" shiloh advised her old friend "i told him i was okay" grace mentioned her text, "a two word text isn't enough grace, he wants to see you and i know there's definitely part of you dying to see him" shiloh pointed out, unfortunately she was right, very right. grace was missing gus like crazy but she felt like she needed to stay away for a bit to show him that what happened really wasn't okay and she wouldn't just let it slide if it kept happening. "shi, you're right i miss him so fucking much but we got in a huge fight, i feel weird going back so soon" grace debated "do what feels right, if you feel you want to be with him go, if you need more time feel no rush to leave" shiloh suggested "i think im going to go and see him tonight, i just want a few more hours to think the whole situation out a bit more" grace decided "good decision" shiloh said, she left grace to her thinking. "gracie im going to go get groceries i'll be back" shiloh called from the door. grace shook her head, shiloh was the only one that ever called her gracie as a nickname "alright" she called out to shiloh. it was 3pm now and knowing shiloh she'd get caught up in something and wouldn't be back until 5pm or later so grace decided to go see gus now. she left a note on the table for shiloh,

shi,

thank you for letting me stay, i appreciate it. once i work things out with gus we can talk and try and maybe get us back to normal. thank you again for your kindness, especially after everything that has happened. i'll keep you updated.

grace got into her rover, her and gus' apartment was actually about a 45 minute drive across the city because they were on almost opposite ends, with traffic and a starbucks run grace got to her and gus' place at 5:15, she had no idea if he was going to be home or not but it was worth a shot. she technically did live there anyways. grace knocked softly on the heavy wooden door, no answer. she put her key in the lock and pushed the door open, to her surprise gus was home but he was fast asleep on the couch. his once pink hair that was now faded to blond was messy, his eyes were red from crying and probably smoking and had dark circles under them from lack of sleep. grace sat gently on the other end of the couch and placed her hand lightly on his shin "gus" she whispered, he still didn't flinch "gus" she said a little louder. this time he flinched and shot awake, startled by the unexpected voice. he brought his eyes up to meet hers, "grace, holy shit" he said, in disbelief she was actually there in front of him. "im sorry gus" she apologized, for starting a fight and for not talking to him for almost a week "you have nothing to be sorry about baby, grace i have so much shame for what i did. i always tried my hardest to manage my temper around you and i usually could it's just that i was so fucked up i had no idea what i was doing which also backfired on my attempts to not let you see me high out of my mind. grace im sorry again and i love you" gus sincerely uttered the much needed apology "it's okay gus, i forgive but i won't forget. i'll never stop loving you" she said, scooting a little closer to him. gus sat up properly against the arm of the couch "fuck that baby, come here" he opened his arms for her to come sit on his lap. she leaned forward into his chest, he flinched when she touched his stitches "shit, sorry baby" grace apologized when she noticed his discomfort, she cuddled into his other side and laid an arm softly across his stomach. gus leaned down and kissed her, a single kiss quickly turning to them making out. grace sat on his lap facing him, loosely resting her arms around his neck "i missed you" gus said in between kissed "i missed you too" grace answered. grace pulled away and started to leave hickeys down his neck "you know i get a lot of questions about those" gus joked, "oh well, you're mine" grace shrugged. "its worse trying to hide mine at work" grace said "oh well, you're mine" gus said, copying what she had just told him. "speaking of work ive been calling in sick all week and i don't wanna go back" grace laughed, "quit baby, you know i can take care of you" gus suggested "no way" grace said, she couldn't put all of that pressure on him "yes way baby, quit. i wanna take care of you, spoil you" gus insisted "fine, i'll put in my two weeks notice tomorrow" grace smiled "good, that's my girl" gus encouraged her, he really didn't mind paying for her. he liked it actually, seeing her happy made him happy.
