MOVING ON

CHAPTER 1

Katherine's P.O.V

It was my first day at NYU when I saw him. Jeremy Jones, he was in the corridor talking to some girl, who later on turned into my best friend- Addelyn Skube. I later then met him in my first class of the day, he walked into the lecture 5 minutes late with a smirk on his face. He looked around for a place to sit, there were a ton of open spots including one next to me, which he chose to sit at. He walked over, dropping his books onto the table; startling me.

"Do you mind if I talk to you? My mother always told me to follow my dreams" he asks sitting down, but I ignore this and continue to face the front.

He takes this as a sign to annoy me; by chewing his gum loudly and continuously clicking his pen.

"Do you mind?" I said facing him, he smiles finally having gotten a reaction and replies,

"Your eyes have told me a lot of things. The only thing they haven't told me is your name"

"If I tell you can you leave me alone?"

"Sure"

"My name is Katherine"

"Katherine, pretty name for a pretty lady," he says, and I glare at him. He takes the hint and doesn't ask me any more questions, he only lasts a minute before he's staring at me again

Throughout the whole class, he constantly tries to get my attention and tries to talk to me. By the end, I have managed to drown out the sound of his voice, and successfully ignore him. As the professor finishes his talk, Jeremy calls my name.

"Katherine!!" he follows me out of the room

"Do you need something?" I say turning to him

"Yeah, Your phone number, and a date"

"Sure," I say 

he hands me his phone and I type in my number.

"thanks," he says sounding very surprised.

"What?" I question

"Nothing" he replies "catch you later"

"sure," I say as I walk off

I was walking around campus completely lost, I was so deep in my thoughts I hadn't realised that I had walked into someone until I heard her groan. I looked down sheepishly and held out my hand for her to take. She took it and pulled herself up.

"Thanks" she replies dusting herself off

"No problem," I say, she turns to leave but I call out "Wait" she turns around

"Yeah?"

"Do you know where Joanne Lynch's classroom is? I am supposed to be in her lecture right now"

"Oh, yeah that is where I am headed now" she replies, starting to walk

"I'm Katherine Miller, by the way, but you can call me Kate"

"Hi Kate, I'm Addelyn Skube" she then adds "First day here?"

I nod "Yeah, what about you"

"Mine too, although all of my siblings have come here and I have 5, so I have grown up coming here"

"Oh, cool," I say, sounding very sarcastic "Oh my God, I am so sorry I didn't mean to sound so sarcastic"

"Haha, don't worry about it"
