A penny for my thoughts?
Let me give you my two cents
I walked the aisles of the five and dime,
for a coin bank; a cache for my cash
Hoping it's my cure to spend, and buck the trend,
And have money left over after the weekend.
I query the salesman, he has an accent
My wares are upstairs, I make the ascent
I find the banks beside the scents
but the price lacks common sense.
It is shaped as a clown and costs a pretty penny
I hear the coined phrase,
"In for a penny in for a pound"
Yet leave it anyway; it looks like Pennywise
I will try the Dollar store
In the older quarter of town
Or bring some spare change
To a yard sale where I can nickel and dime
After all...
A penny saved is a penny earned.
