So here’s another chappy, yes I uploaded during the same week! Oh yea! You’re all welcome! Hahaha

“It wasn’t safe? What do you mean?” I asked my mom a bit fearfully, she seemed shaken up and it  frightened me.

“I just don’t know where to begin, it’s a bit complicated.” She said while grabbing the ice cream

and shoving a mouthful into her mouth, I gave her a small smile.

“Well the beginning is always a good start.” She gave me a playful glare and then took a breather before beginning.

“…there was a rogue problem,” she sighed. “Well at first we didn’t think much of it. Rogues where always considered weak but…obviously they had something planned-”

“Like?” I couldn’t help it, I wanted to rush her, to get the news out much quicker.

“Well usually rogues are solo wolf’s but-” she let out a shaky breath. “They attacked in big numbers that night. How could they have expected that?” a teardrop escaped her.

“Who did they attack?” I asked shakily.

“Lark and Sandra.” She whispered out. “It was during the night…there were just too many and-and they were so brutal and coldblooded.” My mom sobbed. “The western Pack at the time wasn’t what it is now, it was weaker, smaller.” She tried to gain composure of herself. “They were kind, gentle…”

Hearing this I remember Luan telling me along with Jay that Klaudious hadn’t always been so…cold. He was brought up with kind parents, well until they were so cruelly taken from him.

“…But the worst thing was that he had to witness it.” I looked up at my mom, my face going pale. My heart clenched at the thought, at the pain he must have experienced.

I finally understood why he was so closed off and reserved from people, he just couldn’t trust anyone. It explained why he had such a rough exterior, why he was how he was to people, so inconsiderate to others.  Because of what happened when he was younger.

‘Our mate went through a lot.’ My wolf whimpered out, she didn’t like what she was hearing. This broke her heart along with mine.

“Klaudious was there…Sandra and Lark died protecting their most precious possession, their baby.”

“How old was Klaudious when this happened?” I asked while tears trailed down my cheeks.

“Maybe five?” she said unsure. “It had to be because you were barely two.” I couldn’t trust myself to speak, I was just so appalled by what I had heard. All I wanted to do was run back Klaudious. I had been such a bitch! “He was then given over to his uncle, he was a bitter man.” My mom said sourly. “He was power hungry and blood thirsty.” My mom said angered. “Such a young boy shouldn’t have been raised around that.”

I bowed my head, this explained a lot, why Klaudious was the way he was. He couldn’t help it—he was brought up that way.

“Mom,” I sobbed out. “I left him after I promised him I wouldn’t.” I cried out. “He must hate me so much!” she hugged me close to her body. “I don’t want him to hate me. I-I-I Love him mom.”

“Oh baby,” she cooed. “I’m sure he doesn’t hate you, but why did you run away from him?” I ducked my head.

Embarrassed I told her why, “He just wasn’t paying attention to me and he never wanted to tell me anything, he was so secretive. Telling me it was for my own safety.” I muttered feeling childish and so naïve.
