Chapter 2

Bhavya's house was just perfect. Gauri loved how it was small and simple. The moment she walked inside she was amazed as to how so much sunlight was able to enter the living room. Taking a deep breath as she drops her luggage onto the carpet floor "Bhavya..." Grasping her friend's hand "Do you like it Gauri? Your room is over there." Turning around to hug her friend tightly "You are the best thing in my life Bhavya. I just don't know how to repay you." Grabbing her shoulders to pull away only to see Gauri's watery eyes "Hey! Don't talk like that! We are best friends and this is what I am suppose to do. Now that you are here I will always have someone to vent to...cry to...you just don't know what you are getting yourself into Gauri." Laughing at her silly friend "I can't wait to hear all about it."

Bhavya: Enough of being grateful let me show you your room.

Gauri was amused as to how excited Bhavya was because Gauri really didn't care how the room looked as long as it had a bed but the moment the door opened she couldn't help but let out a surprising gasp. The walls were white with a slight sheen so that when the morning sunlight came it would light up the entire room. Her window was so big that she could see and smell the small garden outside. Bhavya had purposely crack opened the window to let the fresh breeze in. "So? What do you think?" Looking around once more...a small bed with purple bed sheets...a small white desk for her to work on...and a small closet...Gauri couldn't be any happier. "It's wonderful Bhavya. I love it." Jumping up with much excitement "I knew you would! You always loved looking at flowers and taking in the fresh air back in Bareilly especially when we were walking to school early in the morning."

Gauri closes her eyes to reminisce about her past "Yes...that was the only time I could get away from the darkness at home." "Gauri...what are you thinking about?" Slowly opening her eyes to see her new chance at life "Nothing..."

Bhavya: Gauri do you have an outfit for tomorrows interview? If you don't I can wear one of mine.

Gauri opens up her luggage and pulled out a white shirt with black pants only to see Bhavya scrunching up her nose "Um...yea..definitely wearing one of my outfits." Looking at her friend and then at her outfit "What? What's wrong with my outfit?"

Bhavya: Come on..you are interviewing at Oberoi Fashions..you can't interview in that..the shirt is huge and the pants look like balloon pants. You need to look fashionable.

All of a sudden Gauri was being dragged into her friend's room. "Waalaa! This is perfect!"

Gauri eyes widen looking at how small the skirt was "Are you sure?"

Bhavya: It's a pencil skirt..professional yet classy...and pairing it up with this gray sleeveless button top it will be perfect. Go try it on!

When Gauri managed to pull up the tight pencil skirt over her hips she let out a sigh of relief "Oh goodness it's tight." Finally tucking in the sleeveless shirt Gauri walked out of the bathroom "So what do you think?" Bhavya who was snacking on a bag of chips suddenly stopped "Oh my goodness Gauri! You have been hiding your assets all along!" Whistling and winking made Gauri blush "Do you think it's appropriate?"

Bhavya: Of course! Just because you have a nice body does not make the outfit cheap. You look like a diva! Working at Oberoi Fashions you need a certain look and this is it!

Gauri takes a look at herself in the mirror "A certain look...I'm a bit nervous Bhavya."

Bhavay: Don't be. Just answer truthfully and you will be fine. Just by looking at your designs they were eager to meet you. I know you will nail it.

Omkara's office

Jhanvi: Mr. Oberoi. I just don't understand why you are interested in her. She has no degree...no experience and you want her to be my assistant?

Still staring at the portfolio "Do you not believe in natural talent?"

Jhanvi: But this campaign is too important for an amateur Mr. Oberoi. With the Khurana's trying to out do us this year I just don't think it's a good idea to hire someone with no background in design.

Omkara: Take a look at this and tell me she will be of no use to you.

Jhanvi grabs the portfolio. Omkara was smiling as he could already tell by Jhanvi's eyes that she was also like him. "Amazing isn't it Jhanvi...." Still flipping through the pages "These designs...although it has no colors but the detail is just amazing....this dress....if done right it could be our main display for "Old and Classy."

Omkara stands up from his desk "She is coming tomorrow for an interview with you. Keep me updated."

Jhanvi started to rub the temples of her head. "After seeing these pictures I can see why you want her to be my assistant but I don't think my other assistant will be happy."

Omkara scoffs "You mean Riddhima? The only reason she is even your assistant is because her father begged you. And when you came to me for that favor I tried to warn you but you didn't listen. None of her designs were up to Oberoi Fashion's standards.

Jhanvi: I know I know...but once she gets wind of me getting another assistant I will not hear the end of it.

Omkara: That is not my problem. We have only a month left before presenting "Old and Classy" at the annual function. You need to keep everyone in line. That's it for today. I need to go checkout one of our stores so I will be out of the office for the entire day.

Jhanvi: Okay. I will update you tomorrow when the interview is over with Gauri Kumari Sharma.

Bhavya's House

Changing back into her clothes Gauri couldn't help but feel Bhavya stare "What is wrong?"

Tapping her chin "The outfit is perfect but the shoes....we don't wear the same size. Lets go shopping!"

Gauri: Can't I just wear my black heels?

Bhavya grabs Gauri's arm to tug her out the door "Nope...we are going to the mall...at the same time you can check out Oberoi Fashions. Their stores are amazing...and if you wear one of their shoes to the interview it will show them that you had put out effort to study their designs.

Gauri had to admit Bhavya made lots of sense. "Okay let's go."

Bhavya then gripped Gauri's arm tighter and with a playful look "And if we are lucky we might bump into Omkara Oberoi..I heard he frequently comes to checkup on the shops to make sure everything was in order. He is so gorgeous Gauri...one look is all I need to have a perfect day."

Gauri pinches Bhavya's nose "Let's go..I don't want to bump into anyone."

Bhavya rubs her nose "Fine fine...So boring Gauri."

Gauri laughs "how about I treat you to lunch after buying my shoes."

Bhavya's eyes lit up "Okay! But if I see Omkara Oberoi I am so going to talk to him."

Gauri raises her eyebrow "Are we shopping for my shoes or shopping for single men Bhavya."

Bhavya laughs as they got into the car "I bet if you saw him you would be just like me...a puddle of goo."

Gauri thinks to herself " I have no room for romance in my life nor do I want it."

**I got a bit bored and just felt like continuing this drabble..hope you guys enjoyed it.**
