I take a deep breath. I was finally done. I'm afraid it won't work though. I hesitantly grab the gloves. Nothing. Nothing happened. Shock floods through me. I can't believe nothing happened. I know, that sounds bad but it's actually the best news I've had in my entire life!

I put on the gloves. I smile. I pick up the pencil on my desk. Nothing happened. I smile once again. I can't believe these actually work! I get a book from the book shelf. The book my mother gave to me before leaving.

After a while of reading, I had heard something from downstairs. I furrow my brows and look at my kitten, Millie. I was pretty sure I live alone. I grab a knife from my desk and keep it in my pocket. I keep my eyes on the door while I hear them walk around the kitchen. I then hear them head up the stairs. How did I hear them? The stairs are creaky af. I open my closet door and get in without any noise. I look through the tiny crack in between the doors.

There were two people there. One had brown hair and the other- wait, is that Jimmy? What were they doing in the house?! They go back down the stairs. I quietly open the door and grab the knife out of my pocket. I get out of my bedroom and quitely head downstairs, but the stairs had something else in mind. I flinch at how loud the creak. They come this way. They see me. I run back up the stairs and they follow.

"Wait." I hear the woman say.

"What?" Jimmy responds.

"Are you sure we should recruit her?" She asks.

"We have to." He answers.

I hear them continue to come upstairs. I open the window and climb out onto the roof and close it behind me. I sit where they couldn't see me and wait. I could hear them walk towards the window. A hand opens it. Luckily I could see them, but they couldn't see me. No I can't turn invisible, I'm just really good at hiding. I knew they knew i was up here.

"You can come down. We aren't gonna hurt you." The girl says.

They really don't get it do they. I let out a sigh and walk down the roof but don't get back in.

"Why are you guys here?" I ask.

"We were wondering if-" the girl says before being interuppted.

"If I wanted to be recruited?" I finish, not looking over at them.

"Uh, ya." Jimmy says.

"Why would I want to?" I ask.

"We are making a new team of X-Men." The girl says. I bite on my lower lip. "The team consists of sons or daughters of the original."

"That doesn't really answer my question." I say.

"We are going to make the world a better place." Jimmy answers.

"Fine. I'll join this team of yours." I say.

"Ok. By the way I'm Laura, that's Jimmy." The girl introduces.

"Ya, I know who Jimmy is." I say. "I'm Leslie."

I go inside and follow Laura. I could feel Jimmy eyes staring at me. I could tell Laura noticed.

"Let's go, we don't have all the time in the world." Laura says, walking down the stairs.

"Right. Coming." Jimmy says.

"Thank you." I whisper to her.

"Don't mention it." She whispers back.

We reach outside and see someone there. The boy looked like Laura except the brown hair was a little lighter. He comes up to us. And holds Jimmy and Laura by the neck and just like that they were gone. He was back a second later and puts his hand on my neck. I end up in a huge, wooden mansion. People were talking. One girl notices me and walks up to me and the other follows.

"Hi. I'm Hannah." She introduces.

"I'm Leslie." I say.

"I'm sure you've already met Jimmy, Laura and Kayden." Hannah says.

So that's what the other guys name was.

"Yep." I say.

I see another girl come my way.

"Hi I'm Susan." She says and smiles brightly, holding out her hand for me to shake.

"Leslie." I say, hesitantly grabbing her hand and shaking it.

"Anyway." Hannah says, she points over to the left side of the building to a guy with blonde hair and another girl with blonde hair that looked exactly like her. "That's Blake and my twin sister Hailey."

"I was wondering why you two looked so alike." I say.

"Ya, people wonder that a lot." She says with a laugh.

She looks to the right side to a boy with brown hair, reading a book on the bench. "That's Daniel. He doesn't talk much." She adds in. Susan nods in agreement. Daniel is here too?!

"How many people do we have left?" I ask.

"1."
