🐺🔪 "thump-thump..."

"Wow girl... that's intense" my best friend Narla said, staring at me, wide eyed in disbelief. "Cause i mean like, you have to be married and give birth to a girl within these next two years of your life. Like, that's not a lot of time to do that, you know."

"Yes I know Narla, but I think it will be an amazing and fun adventure," I gave her a giddy look and winked. "Don't you?"

Narla broke down, laughing her voice out of her throat because of my wink, as we both were walking to school. I walked side by side with her, showing a confused face and wondering why she was laughing at me. Beacause of that, she just laughed even harder. I had no clue as of what to say, so I kept my mouth shut.

After a few minutes of nonstop laughing by Narla, finally reaching school with eyes full of hatred staring at us, she spoke once again. "Sorry Prodigy, that wink really got me. Then when you made that confused face," Narla laughed three more obnoxious laughs, "I just couldn't help it." She looked at me grinning from ear to ear.

"Oh-no it's fine," I mumbled. "Just go and laugh at your friend—the only one might I add— for a whole five minutes seven seconds and sixty-one hundredths of a second, and leave them wondering why!" I just realized that I was gradually raising my voice at her.

Narla stopped in the school courtyard head facing the rocky pathway, not allowing me to see her face. I walked toward her, ready to put my hand on her shoulder and say sorry when she stared to shake. I hated seeing her like this. I dropped to my knees ready to cry, when Narla clenched her stomach and gritted her teeth.

A few tears escaped without my permission, then Narla stoped. I looked at her from my humiliating position on the ground and see her smiling!?

'Wait... Smiling? Why?'

"Prodigy," Narla said in an icy voice while slowly lifting her head from the spot she had positioned it on the ground, "I..." she paused for dramatic effect. "I love you so much Prodigy!" Narla exclaimed as she took my hands with hers and started jumping up and down, dragging me along too.

"Oh Prodigy, your the best. But why did you suddenly start crying?"

I finally realized that tears were still coming down my cheek. So I quickly wiped them away and looked at her, eyes wide in wonder.

"W-what do you mean? I thought you were angry at me for yelling so that's why I... that's why..." I stammered on like that until Narla placed her hands on my shoulder.

"Prodigy. I would never ever, not in a million years, be mad at you. Ok?" she said, looking at me with eyes that contained the most serious look I've ever seen her with. I nodded my head yes and we both started giggling as we walked into school.

It was my first day back at school after what seemed like a long summer vacation. I was excited to go back honestly because of all the knowledge that gets put in my head. The only bad thing about school were all the jealous humans that stared their little beady eyes at me, full of jealousy. I never paid attention to any of them though.
