As a new day begins, the sun beams to boast its glorious light as its rays penetrate someone's room through the curtains. Jungkook felt warm on his face. As he fluttered his eyes open, the sun's light flashed before him that he shielded himself with his hand. He rose from his bed with his eyes closed, not wanting to leave his soft and foamy sanctuary any sooner. The smell of breakfast woke his senses. Though he still felt groggy, he stood up and made his bed. As he went downstairs, he saw his brother getting busy in the kitchen. Giggling to himself, Jungkook skipped his way to his brother as he watched him cook.

"I see you're already awake Jungkook," Jaemin, his brother chimed. "Food's already on the table. You eat first, I'll finish this real quick."

"How's Ji Eun noona?" Jungkook asked as he took a seat.

"She's fine. It's just her morning sickness but I'd still bring her to the hospital just in case," Jaemin replied.

"I can't wait to see my nephew. I hope he comes out sooner."

Jaemin chuckled at his brother's remark. "Patience is a virtue Jungkook."

Jungkook began his breakfast shrugging at his brother's reply. Jaemin finished the pancakes and served it to his younger brother which the latter happily accepts.

Jaemin is happily married with Ji Eun, who's currently pregnant. After their wedding, they left Busan and settled in Seoul to build a new family. The couple owns a little bakeshop as a business. Since the newlywed couple decided to settle in Seoul, their parents urged Jungkook to move with them so he'll adapt the new environment a year before he goes to uni; which the latter willingly obliged since his brother and sister-in-law are willing to take him in.

"Since me and Ji Eun are going out, I trust you with the shop okay?" Jaemin said as he wiped his hands.

"Leave it to me hyung!" the younger enthusiastically replied.

'The weather looks good today', Jungkook thought as he flipped the sign OPEN to start the day. He's been briefed with everything so it'll be a piece of cake. Also, he's with Hoseok, Jaemin's best friend and the baker on the shop. Hoseok is a very joyful guy that could replace the sun due to his charming personality. A ding indicated the first costumer for the day and Jungkook served him well. More customers entered the shop as the time passes by.

"That would be $3 sir," Jungkook muttered. The old man shuffled his pockets. When realization hits him, he returned the cake to Jungkook and apologized. "I'm so sorry young man but I forgot my wallet. Perks of being old huh? I'll go get this next time," the old man smiled sadly.

Upon noticing his expression, Jungkook shook his head and smiled warmly to the old man. "It's okay sir. It'll be on the house today."

The man declined. "I appreciate it young man, but I can't take it unless I pay it. That would be rude of me."

"Please sir, I insist."

The old man hesitantly took the item and bowed to Jungkook. "Thank you, young man. I owe you."

Jungkook flashed the customer his bunny smile, muttering a welcome. His customer exited the shop with a grateful smile on his face which made the younger copy the same expression. What he didn't know, Hoseok saw it and smiled proudly at his new found dongsaeng. "You sure your brother wouldn't get mad at what you did?"

Jungkook slightly jumped at Hoseok's voice, startled. He smiled sheepishly. "I don't know Hoseok hyung. I have a soft spot for elders. They remind me of my grandparents. I guess I just have to pay my brother later."

"I'm just kidding Jungkook-ah. If it was your brother, I'm sure he'd do the same thing too," Hoseok chuckled.

Jungkook smiled in relief they both went back to work, with Hoseok mumbling a 'he's so cute,' as he went back to the kitchen.

Another ding made Jungkook turn his attention to the door, indicating the entrance of a customer. It is a girl wearing a simple summer dress that flows until her ankles. When she reached the counter, she flashed Jungkook a kind smile and took out her phone.

The young man is so enticed with the girl's charm that he almost can't stop looking at her. Jungkook stood up straight composing himself as he waits for his customer. Hoseok suddenly popped out from the kitchen holding a newly baked cake to put it on display. Upon seeing the familiar figure, Hoseok smiled and said, "Happy to see you again Jihee-ah!"

The girl upon hearing the familiar cheerful voice , snapped her head up and returned the gesture. She quickly typed something in her phone and showed it to Hoseok.

Fancy seeing you too, Hoseok. Is there a new specialty available?

Hoseok nodded in response. Jungkook is still confused as to why the girl has to show her phone whenver she says something. He wanted to ask but he kept quiet and stayed awkward as he let Hoseok do the talking.

Hoseok carefully wrapped the cake and gave it to Ji Hee. "That would be $1.99." After paying to Jungkook, she waved goodbye at them and exited the shop. Jungkook was about to ask when Hoseok beat him to it. "Ji Hee's mute. She's a regular costumer of ours along with her mother but unfortunately her Mom died few years ago because of cancer."

Jungkook felt sad for Ji Hee. Nothing hurts more than when the person who showered you with love left you behind.

The day passed by quickly. After the duo is finished cleaning, they closed the shop and bid farewells to each other. After making sure that the shop is locked tight, Jungkook plugged his earphones and rode his bicycle, enjoying the increasing number of flickering city lights. So far, his first week in Seoul seems pretty normal. Little did he know, he is bound to be there to change everything.
