Peyton POV
"Pey!" My older brother, Cameron yells up the stairs. "We have to go!" This is it, I'm going to Magcon. I grab my backpack and check myself in the mirror one last time before running down the stairs. Cam is standing by the front door next to our huge suitcases. I swear, for a teenage boy, he sure packs a lot.
"Finally! Mom is driving us to the airport! Also, where are the rest of your clothes?!" He demands. See, Cameron is extremely overprotective especially now that we're going to be hanging out with, in my opinion, a lot of hot guys. I'm wearing really tight black adidas leggings with a white workout crop top and white adidas running shoes.
"Cam, it's fine!" I tell him as I grab my bag from him and rush out the door. I hear him follow behind me and shut the door to the house.
"Mom, make her change!" Cameron yells as my mom gets outs of the car sitting in the driveway.
"Cameron, your sister looks completely appropriate! Chill," my mom says exasperatedly. Man, I love my mom. We're both pretty used to Cam saying stuff like this. He wants me to be his little sister that would go to him when she was scared of storms forever.
Cameron sighs before loading all of our suitcases into the trunk and sitting in the backseat. I shrug and run around to the passenger seat as my mom climbs in the driver's seat.
"Peyton, you know I love you but be careful around these guys. Some of them aren't always as nice as they appear," Cameron warns being the protective older brother.
I turn around to face him and give him a "really" look. "Cam, I'm a big girl, I can take care of myself." I love how much he cares but I'd also like him to ease up just a little bit.
"I know you can, I just worry. I don't want you to get hurt," Cam sighs worriedly.
"I love you, Cammy," I tell him and lean back to kiss his cheek quickly. Mom smiles at us and starts the car.
"Love you too, Pey Pey," Cameron responds before pulling out his phone and typing on it quickly. I roll my eyes and turn back around to face the road. Mom gestures to the radio as I sign that I can pick the music. I jump at the chance and start pushing buttons until "Stitches" by Shawn Mendes starts to play. I lean back and sing along. God, he has the voice of an angel and the face of one too. Cam always tells me that I'm an amazing singer and maybe he's right.
"You know Shawn's going, right?" Cam asks looking up from his phone. I whip around to look at him with a giddy expression.
"Are you serious? He's amazing!" I squeal. "He has an amazing voice!"
"Oh god, please don't start fangirling on me too," Cam whines. Maybe I'll mess with him a little.
"What's not to fan girl about? That smooth voice, muscular body, and deep, soulful eyes. And don't forget that jaw that could cut diamonds," I squeal and pretend to fan myself.
Cam groans loudly in the back and I can see him tugging at his hair. "I don't need to hear what my little sister think about my best friend." That reminds me, Cam and Shawn have been hanging out for years now and he's been over to our house multiple times, but I've never met him. I've always been at basketball practice or cheer camp or out with friends. I wonder if Cam did that on purpose...
"Oh, Pey, Bart wants you to sing a few duets with him," Cam mentions casually before pressing the heels of his hands against his ears as of expecting a squeal of something.
"What? M-me?" I blanch not doing what Cameron expected. I'm not sure how I feel about this, I'm not that good, and Shawn is amazing.
Cam cautiously pulls his hands away form his ears and nods. "Sis, you're amazing, you're just as good as Shawn. He's a great guy, don't worry."
