CHAPTER 21 : Taking The Risk

Nandito ako ngayon sa isang ice cream parlor at ako lang naman ang magisa. It's been a week narin and everyday na ang "alone time" ko.

Gusto ko munang mapag isa dahil ang dami nang bumabagabag sa isipan ko.

Iniisip ko kung pinaglalaruan lang ba niya ang damdamin ko o dahil nakilala ko lang siya bilang isang  masama na tao kaya ganito ako kagulo kung mag isip.

Hayy.

"Kate ?"

"Kate ?"

The heck ...

"What ?!" I said, shouting at ...

"Hi."

He said, then smiled at me

"S-Steve ?"

"We meet again."

"Ahh. Oo nga. Nga pala, Anong ginagawa mo dito ?"

I asked him with a weird face. Malamang.

"I just went here to see my business friends nearby. I didn't expect that your attending classes here."

He said then served me a chocolate ice cream.

"Thanks... Oo, school ko nga yan."

(Weh ?!! School ba yan ?! Tirahan ng mga demonyo yan eh.)

"The school looks very familiar, I wonder ?"

He said, then gazed at the school gate. Nasa tapat lang namin kasi yung school.

"Oo nga pala, may retrograde amnesia ka nga pala. Well, If it is familiar, then maybe this is your old school. Am I right ?"

I told my inference about his wonders. Hope it helps to bring back memories, but I guess not.

"Hmm. Not quite sure but ... maybe."

I just nodded at the thought and ate my already-melting-ice-cream

"And you ?"

"Hmm ?" I responded

"What are you doing here ? You should be going home at this time, right ?"

I looked at him and think of an answer and then,

"Nothing, I just want to be alone"

"Quite odd of you. Come'on What's the problem ?" He said, trying to encourage me.

"Am I that transparent ?"

"Yes. I know that you have a problem." he said then looked at my empty eyes.

"Can I ask something, Steve ?"

He's my childhood friend so Im going to take risk.

I waited for his response and so he nodded.

I took a deep breath and asked him.

"What does it take to make sure that love is true ?"

I waited for him to answer but he just smiled and said

"Well, You will know a person's true love if that person is willing to sacrifice everything and has a will to take risk."

"Nosebleed pre."

Yan lang ang nasabi ko sa mahaba niyang sinabi. Ang lalim naman kase !

"That's the only thing I can say for you. Just think of it carefully."

He said and then stood, a sign that he's about to go.

"Well, I have to go."

I just nodded at him and said my thanks.

And then he went, watching him until he fades.

Willing to sacrifice everything.

The next day, Maaga nanaman akong pumunta ng school, puyat ofcourse.

"Kate !!!"

Clarisse shouted right before I enter the classroom.

"Oh ?"

"May news na kumakala--"

"I. don't. care." I said, emphasizing the three words.

"Pero ... involve ka."

Then I looked at her with a tired face

"Stop joking around Clarisse, I don't have time for that."

Paano ba naman kasi, Ang dami ko ng iniisip oh !

"Sabi ng mga kaklase mo, nag confess na daw ng feelings si Kalen sayo !"

What ?! Ano sabi niya ?

...

"Sabi ng mga kaklase mo, nag confess na daw ng feelings si Kalen sayo !"

Wait, isa pa nga

...

"Sabi ng mga kaklase mo, nag confess na daw ng feelings si Kalen sayo !"

Last na talaga !

...

"Sabi ng mga kaklase mo, nag confess na daw ng feelings si Kalen sayo !"

O.O?!

"WHAT ?!! PAANO NILA NALAMAN ?!"

I shouted at Clarisse.

"So totoo nga ?"

"W-w-what ? Hindi yun totoo !" I lied.

"Anong hindi ka dyan, You just said it."

"Wait. Ang daming tao dito, dun tayo sa cubicle dali !"

And right before we went to the cubicle, Someone pulled my hand.

...

Kalen.

"Listen up people ! This girl right beside me is already my girlfriend, so shut the fuck up already. You get me ?"

He clearly and loudly said.

I was truly surprised by what he announced, to the point that I can't even speak and move a bit.

He just pulled me and placed me at his side, firmly.

After he said those words, his announcement, he then whispered ...

"Your mine now, Kate."
