''I can,'' a deep voice resonated in Taeyong's ears, the proximity and warmness of it making Taeyong shiver.
''No you can't,'' Taeyong tried to get away from the man, almost knocking the glasses over in the process. ''I don't even know you.''
''Oh but you do,'' the man said and lifted him up easily- too easily. ''God, you really are incredibly drunk.''
Taeyong couldn't comment on that because he didn't know what he looked like- red cheeks and ears, slightly open mouth, long fluttering eyelashes. Yes, he was drunk.
''Your friend told me that you'd been drinking for the past hour and a half,'' the guy said, ignoring the looks others gave him. ''Don't look at me like that, I'm just helping my friend,'' he snapped at the onlookers. Taeyong slowly opened his eyes and flinched at what he saw.
Jaehyun, looking as hot as ever, was glaring at people, effectively scaring them away. But on top of that, Taeyong realised that he was being carried by Jaehyun who had just called Taeyong 'a friend'.
The Jaehyun who had threathened to tell everyone that he worked as a stripper if he told anyone he was gay.
Taeyong chose to stay silent until they got out of the house.
''Thank you so much,'' he heard Yuta's voice. ''Even doing this much is enough, we can take it from here.''
''No, it's fine,'' Jaehyun refused, walking out of the house. ''You can trust me. I am best friends with your boyfriend after all, so you can count me as a friend.''
''He's not my boyfrie-''
They didn't get to hear the rest of Yuta's bullshit because the door slammed after them due to the windy weather. Now that they were out of the house, Taeyong could talk freely.
''You know,'' he slurred, looping his arms around Jaehyun's neck without realizing. ''You carrying a popular gay guy out of a party isn't going to help your hetero reputation. Also, since when was I your friend?"
''You putting your arms around my neck isn't going to help either,'' Jaehyun said, trying to sound disgusted. It didn't work very well because his ears got red, but Taeyong didn't notice that anyways- he was too drunk. "And I called you friend because what else could I say?"
''God, you're sooo handsome,'' Taeyong said out of nowhere, giggling and pinching Jaehyun's cheek and the latter flinching at the pain.
"Stop that!" He gently put Taeyong down next to the driver's seat and buckled his seatbelt.
''A seatbelt?!'' Taeyong gasped, tsking right after. ''You are not living your life properly!''
Jaehyun closed the door and got in the car, starting up the engine. He watched as Taeyong looked around the car, seeming shocked.
''Wow, you must be very rich,'' Taeyong said, doe eyes wide and innocent. ''I'd kill for a car like this!''
Jaehyun ignored the overwhelming urge to smile and started driving. He was driving slowly, wary because of the dark. They didn't talk for a while, comfortable with the silence of the night. But it didn't last- Taeyong broke it.
''On a second thought,'' he mumbled, leaning on the door. ''I should probably get a driving license first.''
Jaehyun rolled his eyes. When he had first met Taeyong, he had somehow thought of him as annoying even though his reputation was nothing like that. So he had opted to act a little more mean to him, both annoyed with him and also wanting to scare him into keeping his promise. He couldn't let anyone know that he was gay. That'd ruin everything.
