It was a bright summer morning. Edd awoke, still glum from just waking up.
"Tom! Matt! Breakfast is ready!" Edd called out cheerfully.
Matt was quick, as usual, to rush down the steps. His bright blue eyes seemed to sparkle in excitement, like a child just getting a puppy. Or perhaps, he looked like a puppy? Tom was slower than usual to make his way downstairs. He looked soulless, with his deep sockets and heavy bags hanging under them, marks looking similar to bruises on his pale skin. Edd sighed shakily This happened to him once a month. The reason? Unknown.
Just as Matt and Edd sat at the table, Tom took his plate and began walking away.
"Tom what are you d-"
"Shut the fuck up."
Edd was hurt, watching Tom make it to his door, going into his dark room. He usually was never this hostile. Edd sighed, looking at Matt. He gave him saddened expression in complete contrast to his uplifting features from earlier. They both ate in silence for the rest of the time.. Matt feel bad for Tom, but only a little, more focused on how loud he was chewing was.
Hours later , Edd searched the area, soaring above the city as he tried to look for the creature mentioned nearby. Though as he went by, Tom passed through his mind. He thought about what he had said to him earlier..
Shut the fuck up
It still hurt to hear that from him.. Edd was then distracted by a enormous purple beast, uncontrollably terrorizing people in a park. Edd had seen it once before... It seemed to hear Edd, turning around to smash him to the ground with it's claws. Edd winced loudly, already being able to see blood ooze from the cuts in his knees. He got up, shooting the beast with a blast of neon from his eyes. Just missing the beast, he eventually managed to kick it in the face, making it topple over. Just as people around cheered at Edd's victory, the beast slowly began to shrink into a human like figure. Edd looked at it, realization flooding his head...
