Killing is not as difficult a task as some would make it seem. It's surprisingly easy. So easy, it's almost pathetic.

One wouldn't expect it to be so simple, as a machine as incredible as the human body is specifically designed for survival. Self-preservation is priority one.

But any good mechanic or engineer knows that the more complex a machine is, the more likely it is that something will go wrong. And the more ways there are to make things go wrong, the easier it is to make them happen.

So maybe it shouldn't be so surprising that killing is so easy.

Melody never could understand why people made such a big deal out of it. Everyone talked about doing it, though they were always so scared of the law that they never actually did it. At least, that was her guess. It was rather dull, and honestly, the world had too many people in it anyway.

She figured killing was just what the doctor ordered.

Besides, she thought, a smile tugging at her lips, it's fun.
