Simple Routine

Opening my eyes,
I could feel the familiar scent
Of the perfume in my bed
Of the sun that hits my skin

Everything was always the same
I'm doing my simple routine

I got out of bed
And drank a cup of tea
I plastered a smile
As I greet everyone around me

I go to school and listen
I jot down notes
As if I understand and remember
All of those

Everything was always the same
I'm doing my simple routine

I would talk to my friends
And joke around them
Laughter was always with me
Even when I dream

I plastered a smile
All throughout the day
And wear that mask
Until I got home

I would jump in my bed
Hug the teddy beside me
And I would wonder
What I did to my day

I wonder why I'm here
How these things seemed unreal
And this hearts that beat
Feels like I don't own it

Because what I truly feel
Is something I cannot explain
I am always doing
My simple routine
Although my heart is not into it

I don't know why
I don't know how
I don't know when
I started being like this

And now,
I'll just get some sleep
'Cause it is part of my simple routine

And tomorrow,
I'd wake up doing the same
