"i miss you," yerim mumbles softly, her voice cracking slightly along with his heart; inching closer toward the male, she wraps her short arms around the male's waist, burying her face further into the male's shirt, inhaling in his familiar cologne which she missed terribly during their time apart.

the boys have just arrived in seoul two days ago from their trip to the united states, and spending a few weeks apart from each other, the younger one sure misses her boyfriend, and every part of him.

"i miss you too," he whispers, petting her hair which is one of the things that she likes him doing, before pecking the top of her head gently, "care to tell me why you've been crying?"

jeongguk doesn't pressure the girl from an answer, as they lay in each other's warmth in silence for a few seconds before a sob escapes from her, causing the male's heart to clench tightly, "i-it's the same old thing."

and with her reply, the male has a clear idea of what the she's referring to ― the hate which she still has been receiving from netizens, and how ironically, red velvet's fans (who only supports the idea of four members, and not five). ever since yerim's official debut in red velvet, some of the fans have been protesting against the idea of adding another member, some even claiming that she's taking an extra spot in the girl group; even though yerim was part of the original line-up right from the start.

not only has she been receiving hate for that, she has been receiving all sorts of dislike for anything that she does ― whether she smiles or not, whether she is taking too much spotlight from her members, and so on. there's even once yerim was bashed heavily by the male's fandom for being so hateful towards the boy group, when she was caught with emotionless expression during the males' appearance.

and jeongguk feels bad; he feels bad that his own fans are attacking the love of his life, and as much as he tries to comfort her, and cast aside such negativity, there's no doubt that she's still aware of the dislike towards her.

"i know that i have said this before, and probably a million of times, but rim, you are not what they say. they don't know the real you, they don't know how to appreciate you so don't take it to heart, alright? you got your members, you got sm, you got me, and we all love you a lot, so please, don't take their words into your heart," he mumbles softly, pulling her even closer to him, silently hoping that his presence and warmth can comfort her in any way.

he then hears a soft hum from the girl, as her sniffles soften down a little, with her stirring slightly, adjusting herself as she fits nicely into the male's arms; silence engulfing them comfortably.

a few minutes later, yerim then speaks up, her voice cracking a little, "d-do i really not deserve anything, jeon?" the male widens his eyes, taken aback by her sudden question, hastily shaking his head, pulling away from the girl to take a good look at her.

"no, heck, yerim, you deserve the entire world," he replies, cupping one side of his girlfriend's face, "you deserve everything, and what those haters are saying about you are simply wrong. they are just jealous of you, and they simply don't see the good, and talent in you."

with their recent debut in japan, there has been a sudden rise in hate being directed at yerim, and the male knows about it (because he does uses twitter, but mainly to stalk his girlfriend's fan accounts that are dedicated to her), and as childish as he can by reporting those anti accounts, the male is more worried about yerim and her reaction towards such comments.

knowing that she's the type to read up on fans' comments, it is not a surprise for her to come across tweets that are targeted specifically at her. for example, with the recent debut in japan, some antis-yeri have been stating that if red velvet ever flops in japan, it will be the youngest's fault; tweeting about how she does not deserve the chance to compose or write songs, and that more of such chances should be given to other members; complaining about her constant aloof image due to the lack of presence of her smile; stating that she does not deserve to be part of red velvet and countless more that simply devalues the youngest's worth.
