[2] Accelerando
-Gradually accelerating or getting faster-
Once Hitler took power, the German war machine began to grow under the noses of other countries such as France and Great Britain. The majority of German people were restless and ready to accomplish and achieve all that Hitler promised them. Those who had cause insult and injury to Germany would receive what they deserved. And, the German people would reclaim what was theirs’ to begin with.
1939.
The Germans invaded Poland.
There he marched, a part of the perfect Arian race. He was praised on his stunning blue eyes and light blonde hair. He was congratulated on his athletic build. With shoulders squared and gun at the ready, he marched in uniform with his fellow soldiers over the plains of Poland.
Armored tanks advanced before him. The deadly Luftwaffe flew over head destroying the Poles farms, towns, cities, and pathetic resistance with ease. He was unhindered as he marched with his battalion across a small farm. He could see the shock of the family as his company moved by. It served them right for taking the German people’s land.
However to the Polish family, the advancing German troops and tanks were anything but glorious. It was surprising and horrifying. Just the sight of the armored tanks had caused dread to seep into the father’s soul. Horror filled his being as the Luftwaffe screamed, coming closer to earth, before dropping their cargo of death upon the land. Fear covered his body as the German soldiers passed over his land and continued to move on.
His farm was now ruined due to the tank tracks. The boot prints of the German soldiers littered his farm. And, as he assessed the damage dealt by the passing army, a silent message was passed.
He was now a part of Nazi Germany.
And, its reach was expanding quickly.
