Chapter 3: Acceptance

As the DJ walked home, she couldn't help but notice the looks she was given. The looks weren't bad but they made her want to hide somewhere.

I guess they are just surprised to see me holding a child...

At the thought of Vian, she looked down at his sleeping form, smiling as he would  let out such cute noises.

Soon she made to the door of her and Pearl's house.

Before she walked in, she managed to get her phone out and sent Pearl a quick text.

Marina 3:05pm

Hey Pearlie, I'm at the front door right now. But when I walk in, please don't yell or scream. I'll explain when I get in.

Marina did this so her obnoxious friend doesn't wake Vian up. Moments later she got a reply.

Pearl 3:05pm

K?

The Octoling opens the door and walks in. She looks around the room and finds her parther sitting on the couch, looking at her with a annoyed face.

Pearl opened her mouth to say something but then closes it when she spots Vian in Marina's arms.

"Marina why-" she began but was cut off.

"I'll explain in a minute. Let me just place him in my room." Marina said, walking to her room.

After Marina left, Pearl's expression changed to a slightly upset look as she watched her parther.

But when she came back, she quickly covered it up with a smirk.

"So who's the father?" She said, leaning towards the DJ.

"Um I don't know..." Marina said, not really catching what Pearl meant.

"Tsk, you don't know the father of your kid?!" The rapper exclamied softly, not trying to wake up Vian.

Took Marina a full 3 seconds to realize her mistake. "W-Wait no! He isn't my kid..."

This caused the smaller idol to look at the taller one with confusion, her golden eyes glaring into the sea foam ones, demanding an explanation.

So Marina told her where she found the child, the note, envelope and what she decided to do.

Pearl was silent for a while as she thought of what to say. The silence was killing Marina as she waited for a response.

"So the kid's name is Vian?" Pearl asked, looking at her friend.

The taller idol nodded.

"Isn't there an urchin that works at some barbershop named Vian...tastic?" She wondered.

"I don't know Pearlie, but let's stay on topic. So is it okay if Vian stays with us?" Marina asked.

"I don't know Mar... I mean what about our show? Where would he have to go while we go live?"

"I can talk to one of our friends and see if they can hold him for just 5 minutes. Besides We don't have to record any songs until next month! So we can worry about that later." Marina answered.

Pearl sighed, and smiled. "I guess he can stay then. Besides it'll make things less boring around here yo!"

Marina quietly cheered. Gathering the rapper in her arms and she began to twirl in small circles.

"Thank You Pearlie! Oh cod you don't know how much I lo- I mean appreciate this!" Marina said, almost revealing her feelings for the inkling.

"No problem... Now can ya put me down?!" Pearl said, trying to get out of the clutches of her friend.

Marina put the inkling down and she ran to her room as she began to get a small sleeping area for Vian to sleep.

Pearl watched the Octoling run off and sighed.

If only she knew....
