so this is it. the final partto i never wanted a mate but still got one. this part can be heart breaking or kinda hard to read but i hope you guys like it.

Once again I stared down at her dying body but this time it was real. Everything had happened so fast. One minute were all fighting the rogues and then the next I’m watching my mate fall to the ground almost dead

                The doctor was positive that she wasn’t going to live the night with the large slit in her throat. She had lost a lot of blood and had to get some of the boys to donate blood just to keep her heart beating for a bit longer.

                “Griffin?” I heard someone ask and I turned to see Austin, parker and Logan standing there. The other three alphas that ran this pack making sure everyone was safe.

                “Come on griffin you can’t sit here all night she wouldn’t want you to do that again. We’re all going for a run to clear our heads do you want to come?” Austin asked.

                “Who will watch over sky?” I asked.

                “We will,” Owen said as he walked in with Luke, raven, Sam, Zach, Tyler, Reece, and Dominic. “Go for a run she’ll be okay for a hour.”

                I nodded and slowly got to my feet not wanting to leave Skylar. I reluctantly turned to leave and I felt Owen rest his hand on my shoulder and all I could do was give him a weak smile before I followed the other alphas out.

                When we got outside I felt my wolf growl and want to shift so I didn’t fight it and soon I was in my black wolf form. I sniffed the air and watched as the other three shifted. They motioned for me to take the lead and my wolf gladly took the lead and ran towards the forest. As I burst through a clump of trees I felt the smells of the forest over take me and I instantly relaxed.

                I let my paws pound over the hard ground and I faintly heard the others behind me but my wolf didn’t care if they were there or not he just wanted to run and foget about all the problems that have come up lately.

                I didn’t feel like I had been running very far but I could see the river come into view and realized we had run almost four miles.

                ‘Wow griffin you can run fast,’ Logan panted as he walked up beside me as I stared at the river.

                ‘Yeah it was hard to keep up to you,’ Austin sighed. I didn’t say anything but just watched the river flow by.

                ‘We should head back,’ I whispered and turned to leave but Austin bit my tail making me glare at him.

                ‘Griffin she’s fine she’s with the others and they will make sure if anything happens to let us know. Let you wolf run free for once,’ Austin growled. I was ready to argue but I looked at the other alphas and reluctantly agreed.

                “That was a great run guys my wolf is so tired now I won’t be hearing from him for a few days,” Austin said as was walked into the pack house. I had to admit had been a great run but it was time for me to get back and make sure Skylar was okay. I quickly headed up the stairs with the other following and my heart dropped when I seen Reece and Dom come out of Skylar’s bedroom. Dom held Reece in his arms as she cried against his chest. Dominic’s eyes were filled with pain and hurt.

                Was she really dead? She couldn’t be wouldn’t my wolf be howling in pain from losing her? I quickly pushed into sky’s room and my eyes instantly landed on her. The boys were all around her room just looking down at her. Raven lay beside her on the bed and held her. I was sure my wolf would growl at him for touching her but he didn’t. He just stayed quiet.

                I let my eyes go back to Skylar and watched for the soft rise and fall of her chest to show that she was still breathing. I held my breath waiting for it and let out a long sigh when I seen her chest move with a forced breath.

                “Griffin how was the run?” Owen asked as he came up beside me and rested his hand on my shoulder.

                “It was fine thanks,” I muttered and continued to stare at Skylar. I couldn’t take my eyes off of her. Even in her state she was still gorgeous and seemed to glow under the dim light. I slowly walked over to her and held her hand in mine just loving the feeling of her skin against mine.

                I sat down beside her bed and watched her as the sun set and night began to fall. All the boys stood still holding their breath as they watched Skylar in silence.

                It was midnight and Skylar’s breath was beginning to slow. Most of the boys had left almost in tears as they realized they were about to lose their only alpha female.

                I felt someone rest their hand on my shoulder and I turned to see parker, Austin, and Logan standing their pained expressions clear on their faces.

                “Griffin we’re here for you,” parker whispered and all I could do was nod and turn back to my dying mate.

                I stared down at her grave. It still hurt me to see her name on a grave stone but there was nothing I could do about it.

                “Hey griffin come on man everyone’s waiting,” I heard someone call and I turned to see Owen standing there. I couldn’t help but smile. I had lost her but I had gained so much more. I now had a pack and a beautiful wife and a daughter on the way.

                “Bye mom,” I whispered and jogged off towards Owen where he stood with the rest of the pack. I pulled Skylar into my arms as I saw her and I couldn’t help but smile. She was here and had lived through so much. She still had a small scar of where her throat had been sliced open but that was all that was left of that horrible time when I thought I was going to lose her. She had almost died that night but pulled through and woke up the next morning demanding why we were all standing around in tears.
