concept ;
we've just graduated our senior year
and tonight marks the first night of summer.
we're all hanging out at the beach house,
by the beach.
we're feeling the salty ocean breeze
and gazing up at the starry summer night.
we're your below average group of friends,
and that's okay.
the fireflies illuminate the sky
and there are sparks flying around
from setting off the fireworks.
we're all sitting by the bonfire,
making s'mores and
listening to sunset lover by petit biscuit.
and i swore,
in that moment,
we were infinite.
we're all laughing, and you look over at me, smiling,
smiling your million dollar smile.
and in the moonlight,
your wintry grey eyes glow.
you ask me, "what are we going to do now?"
to which i answer, "i don't know."
but what i do know is that
i want to pack a bag with all the essentials
and run away,
with the one i love, or my family of friends,
and buy a random train ticket.
i want to explore, travel, and read more.
i'd rather be broke and doing something i love
passionately than studying endlessly for
the rest of my life
and living a mediocre life.
