As I stand there,
The sky blazes red,
As if the clouds,
Are on fire.
Colours play over them,
Dancing in crimson hues
As a sprinkle of green ocean,
Mingles with the rosy sky.
And I am captivated.
I call you and we stand there,
For a moment,
The zephyrs touching us,
Making that one moment,
The most precious,
And I forget the troubles,
The exams lurking in corners,
As the feisty nature,
Enthralls me with its beauty,
Could this beauty stay forever?
Is it a siren whose song,
Will destroy me?
Leaving me stranded,
In this pursuit of life?
Am I wasting time?
Why do I need the beauty?
There's a hell lot of books,
Lying comfortably on the table,
Looking quite innocent,
I need to complete those.
The tasks and work,
Never leave us,
And yet I steal a moment,
From that schedule,
Just a moment,
To make a difference.
I don't need to enjoy this beauty,
In solitude, cause you're there
Always wherever I need you.
"We could have painted that,
If we were an artist," you say.
"We can paint with our words,"
I whisper with pride.
You don't reply,
And just stare outside.
I too let the silence engulf us.
These moments need silence,
To enjoy,
Each day, each minute.
But then you need to go,
I had to leave too.
Yah! I have an exam tomorrow,
You are busy too.
But that one breath,
One whisper, one word
And well a million imaginations,
Stay with me.
You may think,
What was so special?
Doesn't it happen everyday?
It happens maybe
I've never noticed,
Cause we get so caught up,
In the details sometimes,
That we miss the beauty,
As a whole.
It was beautiful,
The nature, the winds,
The gossamer clouds,
So beautiful that it hurts me.
Knowing that I could,
Perhaps never spend that,
One moment with you again,
Not because I won't meet you,
Or because we may not go again,
But because this particular thing,
Won't carry the same value,
If it happens again.
How many of us stop to stare,
At the infinite beauty,
Surrounding us,
Shaping our lives?
We lose ourselves,
In the heat of work,
Throwing away the sanctuary,
Of peace and quiet.
I may still have looked at,
The clouds and wondered,
And well when you've someone,
A best friend,
Someone to share that moment,
And then it becomes special,
Someday I'll pass by,
The same window,
But there won't be that beauty,
Or there won't be you,
Because you're a life different,
And we've our destinies,
And yet life made me,
Meet you friend,
And I believe it's for a purpose,
And I know we won't,
Understand that ever,
Why we're what we're now,
But this was meant to happen,
The clouds had to be beautiful,
That day, that very day,
Because everything is,
On the wheels of fate,
Every meeting, every action,
Is for a reason,
Every change in nature,
Signifies something we,
Don't know or care to know.
What was that crimson?
Was it love?
Unconditional, unromantic love,
The kind I give,
To someone as special as you?
What was that ocean green?
Was it the distance between us?
As seen by the outside world?
What were the touches of blue?
Water? Or was it tears?
Tears of promise,
Tears which make me worry,
That I may lose you.
Only because though,
Our hearts touch,
Our hands don't meet.
We understand the differences,
The limits don't faze us,
But yet I always dread,
Always worry,
That we may never get,
That moment again,
I'll treasure it,
In my mind,
And well it's something I
Prefer to call as,
More than friendship.

A/N Dedicated to that one friend in my life, who made a difference! tanuandchamp. You always stood by me. There are many things I want to say.

People might think why our hearts are near, our hands far... Because she isn't my classmate... She's a senior, kind of like the senior most batch. There are restrictions and boundaries but yet by some unknown twists of fate, we're together.

You know how much you mean to me. Words fail there. That day at the library, the few stolen moments, they were the most precious of my life.

Thanks for being with me. This is my heart spread out.
