Kaycee's POV
Sean and I spent an hour reminiscing our childhood while our moms catch up on each other's lives. Turns out they were best friends ever since they were in high school. Pretty awesome, right?
"So, you started taking classes when you moved in here?" I asked.
"Yeah," Sean shrugged. "I met Will and he introduced me to hiphop."
"Cool." I nodded. "Meanwhile, I was stuck at Studio 13, practicing my pirouettes."
He laughed.
"When did you moved here though?"
"Oh, just three years ago," I shrugged. "Mom thinks it's better for my career if we move to LA so... yeah, here we are."
He furrowed his eyebrows. "Then how come we never bumped into classes before?"
"Yeah, well I sorta stopped dancing for awhile since I had to focus at school," I said. "It was just last month when I decided it's time to start taking classes again."
Just then, our sisters walked in. Kylie was sporting a goofy smile on her face while Serris gave Sean a "meaningful" look.
"Uh... yes?" I decided to speak since they're just standing there with those annoying playful grins. "Do you guys need something?"
"Nah–"
"We're just wondering if you wanna go to the mall with us." Serris said.
Kylie furrowed her eyebrows but after an exchange of glances with Serris, she smiled again.
"Yeah," Kylie nodded. "You guys should TOTALLY come and then it will be like our first hangout as a group of friends."
"But, Kylie, I'm grounded." I looked at her incredulously.
"Nah," Sean said. "I guess I'll just stay here with Kaycee."
"You sure?" I raised an eyebrow at him.
He nodded.
I saw Kylie exchange another glance with Serris. She opened her mouth to say something but Mom and Miya suddenly appeared.
"What're you up to, kiddos?"
"Oh, is it okay if I go to the mall with Serris?" Kylie asked.
Mom and Miya looked at each other then nodded.
"How about you, Sean?" Mom turned to him.
"Oh, no, I'm staying." Sean, surprisingly, smiled. "I know Kaycee's grounded and if she's not going, then there's no reason for me to go."
My eyes widened and I gave him a nudge while Kylie and Serris sniggered. Mom's eyebrows shot up and I know that she's thinking.
"You know what? Kaycee, you could go." As soon as the words left her mouth, I squealed.
"BUT, you have to be back before eight since you're still grounded." I nodded and she turned to the guy beside me. "Sean, can I trust you with her? Because I'm pretty sure that Kylie, here, won't be back till midnight."
