Some Random AU

"Sit down, Okogi and Taniguchi." The Head Chief commanded us to which we did. Sooner or later, the other higher officers came in and the meeting started when all the chairs were occupied.

Oh, and did I say that I was used to be a troublesome teen yet I ended up being in the police task force? Even if I had the urge to rebel in my blood because of my father who used to be a troublemaker, my mom managed to make him become a better person since she came from a family of just polititians. Sadly though, he was killed when my mother's family gave him a judgement as "guilty" for his old criminal records. They really wanted him to stay out of my mother but my dad went against it and ended up getting shot in the middle of a fight between him and the old head of the task force.

You might be wondering, why did I join this, the reason why my father got killed? I wanted them to know that even I have the blood of the Okogi, or famous criminals and gangsters, I can still prove that I could change that dirty reputation. Not that I'm ashamed of it, I just want others to stop judging my family. Oh, and the other reason is that choosing to be in the good side is better than the bad side.

The meeting went on and on and the it was over before I knew. When everyone was gone except me, the Head Chief suddenly called my name. "Okogi, you have a secret mission." He said with his usual strict tone. I gave him a firm nod to signal that I was all ears on him.

"Aihara Mei." Was what escaped from his lips. For some odd reason, my mind is telling me that I've heard it before and that it's extremely familiar. 'Till now I've trusted my guts but I can't really get my mind to remember who this person was.

"The heir of the Aihara family. Befriend her." He said before pausing, "The objective behind this is confidential. Do your job and make her feel like you're a friend. She's taking a part of an important role." His cold and rusty voice filled my ears. But what struck me the most was the concept of this mission.

I looked at him, dumbfounded. I can't seem to understand how this was a mission, "Sir, are you asking me to be a bodyguard of an important person? I can't seem to understand why this mission is necessary and that it was handed to me." I shared my thoughts in the calmest way I can, I know it is quite rude to question the head but I really don't get why I'm the one to do this weird ass "mission".

"Not exactly a bodyguard, you specifically need to earn her trust." He said while staring into my eyes with seriousness. I gulped when I stared back into his dark yet sharp maroon orbs. For some reason, I feel like this mission of mine would be hard to do, hopefully that Aihara Mei person would be kind enough to cooperate with me.

The Head Chief stood up from his seat then walked over to a cabinet. He opened a drawer filled with folders and looked into it before getting a thin folder then sat down and placed it on the table. He slid the folder to my side to which I opened and saw the background of this girl named Mei.

When I looked closer into her eyes, I felt this strange feeling of familiarity as if I've seen it before. I shrugged the feeling off when I started to read some of her information. It stated her name, place of birth and birthdate, family background and other personal stuff that I feel lazy to even read. After a few more seconds, I closed the folder then placed it down on the table.

We had a long talk about this before I decided that I got all the information I needed. I bid my farewell before walking out of that room with a short yawn. "Dang... This sounds difficult."

"Well you sure took your time, Yuzu-chan." I was greeted by a pinkette who still had the same sly smile and a hint of mischievousness in her blue orbs.

"Sorry Yuzucchi, this brat really kept bugging me." Harumin sighed while my childhood friend simply giggled and clung onto her arm. I didn't quite catch what the hell they were saying but it most likely consisted of numerous flirts and comebacks.
