Chapter 4

We all got together and started discussing a plan, "No. there's gotta be another way." Thomas said. gally looked at thomas annoyed, "Like what? you've seen the building. she is our only way in." Gally said, "You really think she's gonna help us?" Thomas said staring at the map, "I don't plan on asking for her permission." Gally said to me, "Am I missing something here? this is the same girl who betrayed us, correct?" Brenda said, "The same freaking person." I said feeling myself getting angry but I knew I had to calm it down, "I like them." Gally said pointing at me and brenda, "What's going on?" Brenda asked thomas calmly. thomas didn't say a word, "What, are you afraid your little girlfriend's gonna get hurt?" Newt said randomly.

"Because this has obviously never been just about rescuing minho. has it?" Newt said rudely, "Newt stop it." I said, "What are you talking about?" Thomas said confused, "Teresa. she's the only reason that minho's even missing in the first place. now we finally have an opportunity to get him back. and what? you don't want to because of her? because deep down inside you still care about her, don't you? just admitted it." Newt said. I grabbed his arm, "Newt look, I don't know what's gotten into, you but you can't just blame thomas for nothing! she is our only way in!" I finally snapped, "Oh, sounds like you can get MY girlfriend on you're side!? or is she yours now. UH?" Newt said raising his voice at me, "Newt I.." Thomas was cut off, "DON'T LIE TO ME!" Newt yelled pinning thomas aggressively into the wall, "Don't. lie. to. me!" Newt said but I've never seen him this way, "WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU!? I never liked thomas like that!. I always saw him as a brother to me. So I don't know what's wrong. But whatever it is. it needs to stop now. Because you and I both know I would never do something like that to you. I love you but I guess you don't see that." I said tearing up. newt looked at me with so much hurt and guilt in his eyes, "I'm...sorry." He said. I didn't say anything. I just walked away.

I sat by myself when I heard newt's footsteps. he didn't sit close to me. thomas came as well, "I'm sorry about that. back there. guess I can't hide this from you both anymore." Newt said. I looked at him. He rolled up his sleeve to reveal that he had been bitten. I gasped, "Oh my God. newt why-why didn't you tell us?" I said feeling myself starting to cry, "Didn't think it would make any difference. all I know is that WCKD must have put me in that maze for a reason. maybe it was literally just so they could tell the difference between immunes like you two and people like me." Newt trying to stay strong but I knew deep down inside he couldn't, "Newt, I am so sorry for what I said. I just got so mad. we'll will find away." I said holding his left hand, "She's right. you know we can still fix this, newt." Thomas said. newt hesitated for a few seconds, "Did I ever tell you guys about when I broke my leg?" Newt asked us. me and Thomas both shook our heads no, "Was way back in the maze. I had just come up with the box, just like all the other guys. didn't know where I was, didn't know by who I was, you know? even though all my memories we're gone, I could still feel like.....that something was missing. you know? I felt empty. and I just couldn't hack that. I couldn't take it. so one morning I got up early and I snuck out into the maze. and I went and found the tallest wall I could. and I climbed up there. I jumped off it." Newt said looking off into the distance. I cried the whole time,

"Of course, I got completely tangled up in all the ivy. snapped my leg in three different places, like a proper shank." Newt said as we smiled, "Landed hard on the floor. and I thought that was it. and minho found me. somehow. he picked me up and took me back to the glade. and we never told anyone the truth about what happened. he saved me. he gave me a second chance. and now he needs us. so if there is even the slightest chance that we can save him, we can get him out of there, then we have to take that. no matter what the cost." Newt said looking at us both, "Okay." I said still crying, "I did the same thing." I said. newt and thomas looked at me,

"it had been a few days since I came out of the box. everyone was nice to me and that was fine but I didn't feel like I belonged. there's some girls that didn't like me and some that did. I waited as everyone was doing their jobs and I ran behind a few trees. I had this big knife that I held in my hand. I looked at it and looked at it until finally I decided. I stapped myself. right in the stomach. Of course I bled out and blacked out. aris had found me. that's why me and are so close." I said lifting up my shirt so they could see where I stapped myself, "Love you should have told me." Newt said, "I didn't think that you were going to care." I said beginning to cry again, "We're going to find minho and when we do. will find you a cure." I said holding his arm as me looked at the buildings. thomas went to go talk to the others while me and newt set together. Newt slightly lifted my shirt up. touching my scar from where I stabbed myself, "Y/N you are lucky to be alive." Newt said, "Yeah, I guess." I said. I pulled my shirt back down.

Thomas and gally went to go get teresa which they still haven't come back. hopefully they'll be back soon.
they finally did. they tied her to a chair. newt pulled the bag from her head and sat by me and place his arm around my left shoulder, "Gally?" She said confused as to how he still alive, "Here's how this is gonna go. we're gonna ask you some questions, and your gonna tell us exactly what we need to know. we'll start off simple. where's Minho?" Gally asked, "You guys don't seriously think." Teresa was cut off by gally slamming the chair on the ground as he sat, "Don't look at him. why are you looking at him? look at me. he's not gonna help you. now, we know you have minho in the building. where?" He said not breaking eye contact, "He's with the others in holding. sublevel three." She confessed, "How many others?" Newt asked, "28." She said, "I can make that work." Brenda said as she and Jorge were playing cards, "No, you guys don't understand. the whole level's restricted. you can't get in without a thumbprint ID." She said, "That's why your gonna come with us." I said looking at her. she actually seemed scared, "Well, I don't know. we don't necessarily need her. right?" He said standing up and moving his chair,

"Not all of her. we just need her finger." Gally said seriously, "Gally, back off." Thomas said, "What are you squeamish? I guarantee you she's done a lot worse to minho." Gally said getting really fed up, "That's not the plan so back off." Thomas said standing up. taking the knife from gally, "It won't make a difference. do whatever you want to me. you still won't get through the front door. the sensors will pick you up the-" She try finishing her sentence, "We know. we're tagged. property of WCKD." Thomas says kneeling down to her level, "Your gonna help us with that, too." Thomas added.

She took out our tags, "She enjoyed that." Gally said annoyed, "Your probably right." Fry said, "I still don't trust her." I said holding the back of my neck to stop it from bleeding. newt walked up to me, "Here love, see if these fit." Newt said giving me a WCKD guard outfit, "Are you sure this is gonna work? I'm sure there gonna notice a guard with boobs." I said laughing, "Well, it's big so it should fit." He said laughing. I want somewhere where the guys wouldn't see me change. I had put on the pants that actually fit. I changed my top when I felt someone grab me. it was newt, "Newt! you scared the crap out of me!" I said holding my chest, "What? it's been awhile since we've been alobe and might I add you look amazing." Newt said trying to make me blush, "Thanks." I said and kissed him, "Ugh, this is not the time." Gally said walking the other way. wishing he saw nothing. we laughed and walked back to the others.

Me and newt walked around when found a guard with teresa. guard moved his head when I realized it was actually thomas. we walked as she told us where to go. gally came up as he followed us to the door. teresa opened the door, "Go." I said telling thomas, "hold on. I can get in here." Gally said, "Stay there. throw me the walkie." Thomas as gally tossed it to him. thomas ran down the stairs. newt lifted up his helmet and started coughing. It was starting to get bad, "Just hang on newt." I said rubbing his back. I could feel myself starting to get hot. I lifted my helmet to leaning against the wall. my back started killing me, "Y/N are you okay?" Gally asked, "yeah, this suit is just really hot." I said. gally had finished. newt helped me up and we ran. a guard opened the door and thomas fired. guard tried to run the door but I got him first. me and newt opened the door and pulled our masks off so they wouldn't be scared of us, "Come on, let's go." Newt said smiling. they followed us out. I went to unlock another cell, "Hey, it's okay. we're here to save you, come on." I said calmly leading them out, "Guy's. this might take some time." Gally said letting us know, "He's not here." Thomas said.
