"Awesome." I continue to look around.

"Come." Mr. Wang calls me. I rush after him to catch up.

"So um..this is where I'll work? You know you said maid. Maids cook and clean right?" I ask once we reach the front door.

"You're correct." Mr. Wang opens the front door and let's me in.

"WOW!" I scream unknowingly. I cover my mouth.

Mr. Wang glares at me as he shuts the door.

"Don't do that. Ever. Again."

"Sorry sorry. Everything looks so nice. Sorry." I bow.

Geez Mark. You can't make mistakes like that!

"Come."

I follow Mr. Wang through his extravagant house. I wish I could live here.

"Sit." Mr. Wang points to a couch. This must be his living room.

I sit on the couch. Mr. Wang continues to stand.

"Lay down." Mr. Wang orders.

"What? Lay down..." I slowly lay down on the couch.

Mr. Wang shakes his head.

"You're way too obedient and naive." Mr. Wang sits in a chair across from me.

"Oh." I sit up.

"Starting from today you're my personal maid."

I bounce on the couch.

"Why're are you so excited? You don't even know what I might make you do."

"What would you do? Oh I know! Make me polish all your shoes. No! Clean the entire house head to toe." I smile.

"You really don't know what I could do to you?" Mr. Wang face shows some sign of emotion.

"What could you do? Fire me? Get me arrested? Make me play uno for 5 hours?"

Those seem harmless...well minus the arrested part.

"You're that innocent?" Mr. Wang chuckles but doesn't really smile.

"Mommy always told me to stay away from bad things. I'm a good boy." I smile.

Mr. Wang stares at me then he laughs. He actually laughs. He has pretty white teeth.

"Unbelievable." He laughs to himself.

"What is?"

"Nothing. Get up. Let me show you the rest of the house."

"Okay!"

"Why is there so much stuff in this room?" I stare at the heap of things on top of each other.

"It's a storage room. I never had a chance to organize it. That's your job now."

I gulp. It'll take decades to organize this crap.

"There's another storage room somewhere. You'll have to find it."

What? Oh my gosh.

"Here's the kitchen."

"Oh my God it's a mess!" I look at the dishes piling in the sink, the mess on the counters.

"My family, who I hate, visited this week. I haven't had the time to clean that's your duty."

Oh man. This job is a handful.

"What's that door?" I point to a door Mr. Wang walks past.

"That's the basement door. You're forbidden to go down there. Got it?" Mr. Wang gives me a warning gaze.

"Got it! No basement for Mark!" I salute.

"Your energy irritates me. Come on. Let's go upstairs."

Mr. Wang leads me up the grand staircase.

"There are two staircases. You'll find the other one eventually." Mr. Wang explains once we make it to the top of the stairs.

"These other rooms are all a mess. Clean them. But this room," Mr. Wang stops walking and points to a double door room.

"This is my room. You're only allowed inside of it when I call for you. When I'm not here you don't go anywhere near it. You understand?" Mr. Wang points his finger into my chest.

I gulp. He's scary.

"Yes sir! I understand sir." I bow.

"That's all it is to the house. You'll clean all of these rooms and bathrooms, the kitchen, the pool."

The pool? HOW DO YOU CLEAN THE POOL?

"You're going to organize those storage rooms. You're going to do the laundry. You'll wash the cars when needed. And every morning and night, you'll cook me a meal."

My brain is about to shut down. HE EXPECTS ME TO DO ALL OF THAT?

"Um sir? Don't you think I should get more pay then? 5000 won isn't enough for all of this." I laugh nervously.

"Hmm. You're right. ₩6000."

"6000? That's just..."

"You want the money right?" Mr. Wang crosses his arms.

"Yeah but....yes sir. I want the money." I say defeated.

Curse carrots! 6000 won a day ain't that bad.

Mr. Wang and I make our way back downstairs into the living room.

"I'm sure you'll get accustomed to this environment. If not, you can always quit."

"No! I'm not quitting."

I shall prove Tammy and Jinyoung wrong.

"You'll start the actual job tommorrow. I have a meeting today."

"Are you working tomorrow?" I ask.

"No. I have to supervise you on your first day. Make sure you don't steal nothing." Mr. Wang looks me up and down.

"I don't steal! Stealing is bad."

"Your innocence is unreal." Mr. Wang sighs.

"Thank you." I'm so excited. I have a job! A flipping job!

"But these clothes won't do." Mr. Wang observes my clothes.

He walks around me taking me all in.

"Sorry sir. This is all the clothes I have."

"Not anymore." He checks the tag on my battered black shirt.

"Huh?"

"I'll order some clothes for you. You can't walk around my house in shreds. The clothes I buy you will stay in this house."

Oh. So I have to change when I get here and when I leave? Great.

"Okay sir!"

"Stop calling me sir." Mr. Wang sits on a couch.

"Should I call you Mr. Wang?"

"No. When you're here you're going to call master." Mr. Wang gazes at me intensely.

"M-master?" Woah. I've never called anyone master in my life.

"Got it?"

"Yes master!" I salute.
