"PETER PARKER— YOUR, YOUR BOYFRIEND— HE'S DEAD."
Tim met Bruce's eyes for a moment, realizing that this was one of the last semi normal moments of their lives.
"He's not my boyfriend."
Bruce was kneeling in front of Tim on the couch, worry lines across his face, but they disappeared with Tim's words.
"Tim... that's completely besides the point," Bruce stood up, "The person you're talking to isn't Peter Parker."
For a moment Tim considered playing along. But that wouldn't have made anything better. And besides, maybe Bruce could help.
"I know Peter's dead. But that's not the Peter I've been talking to."
Bruce blinked in confusion. For once, he was stumped.
"What the hell as you talking about?"
Tim scooted over to the end of the couch, pulling his knees into his chest. This was going to be a long conversation. He gestured for Bruce to sit as well, and when his father ( figure ) did, Tim sighed, "I haven't been completely honest with you."
"The Peter I've been talking to is from another universe."
Before Bruce could object, Tim pulled out his phone to FaceTime Peter. When Peter's cheerful face appeared on screen, Tim showed Bruce, "See— he's real."
When Peter was facing Tim once again, his face was no longer cheerful.
"You're telling him?" He said, sounding a little bit hurt.
"I'm not going to keep lying to him." Tim said, "We'll talk later."
He hung up on Peter, hoping that the other boy wasn't too mad.
Bruce was quiet, thinking things over, "Okay—" he leaned forward, "tell me everything."
So Tim did. Mostly.
