The moon has taken
The sky for the night
The room is now filled
With pulsating light
The demons reach up
From their sleep underground
My heart beats faster
And they hear the sound
I count all the pairs
Of eyes on the walls
They pierce me with yellows
That creep while they crawl
I try to race off
To where I am safe
In sleep and in dreams
Far away from this place
If I don't sleep soon
They will eat me alive
I must escape
Or at least I must try
I feel the grip
Of a hand on my arm
Another on my neck
Please sound the alarm
My demons are pulling me
Limb from limb
This is one fight
I could never win
I feel my skin burning
Along with my hair
I realize I'm sleeping
This is a nightmare
