Clark's POV
Officially 5 hours of babysitting a human-snake with a love crush and a old teenaged girl with a love crush. I let out a sigh at the sight of my basically daughter sleeping with that naga. I think it is cute and all, but it is still odd. "Welp. With them quieted down, I can continue my work." I muttered to myself as if someone was listening, then made my way to my make shift desk at Y/n's table. I pulled out my work laptop from the leather satchel, which caused me to stop and stare at it. I remember when I got the satchel, and I couldn't help but smile.

*Flashback*
I had Y/n in my arms as I carried her around the store. She had just gotten out of the hospital and I promised her that she could get whatever she wanted. After ten minutes of being held, Y/n had squirmed to put her down. I put her down and her little feet pitter-pattered as she went towards a dark chocolate satchel with golden stitching and gold buttons. She picked it up and held it up to me. She gave me that look with her e/c eyes sparkling happily. It was almost impossible to say no and I nodded. "Ok ok, I'll get it for ya." I said and ruffled her hair h/l gently. She let out this happy laugh and I could only smile more.
A week from that was my birthday. I got up to get ready for work, then I seen something I never expected. Little Y/n was asleep at the table with a rather large gift wrapped neatly beside her. She had made a while little station, with wrapping paper and tape all around her. I couldn't help but smile at this. You could tell that she tried so hard, because there was a lot of tape clumps and wrapping paper wads. I picked her up gently and took her to her room, then tucked her in. After making my way back out, I stopped and looked at the, attempted, neatly wrapped present. I held it as I examined it. I could tell by the new leather smell that it was something leather, plus the weight of the item made it seem like something durable. The size said it all though. What was the present? It was the leather satchel that I had got for young y/n. I couldn't help but smile then the smile went away quickly. Such a sweet, innocent little girl should never have went through what she had to. Lost her memory, her grandma, and a friend that she might not remember; All things no little kid should go through. I opened the present tenderly and quietly so I wouldn't wake up y/n. I looked at the brand new satchel that has never been opened or touched, other than to  wrap it up. Hell, even the tags were on it. A small note fluttered into the floor as I picked up the gift. The small piece of paper stuck out from the dark hardwood floors. It was bright colored with the words happy birthday on the side that was facing up. I picked it up and read the message on the back of it.
"I know you started your new job a couple days, so I thought this would be useful.
Love y/n"
I swear I almost teared up, I really did.  I chuckled softly and started to write a note to her. I soon left to my job and the day fell in place like it normally did.
*Flashback ends*
I chuckled at the memory then looked up the stairs. "Oh. I have to check on them again!" I groaned and walked up the stairs. I peeked my head into the room again and seen the two cuddling. The naga had his tail wrapped around y/n in a protective manner. I took a quick picture of the two before going to start my work. My detective work.
