Let me tell you about
This Guardian of Mine
It all started so long ago,
that only she and I would know.
She's given me life
When so many others had the knife.
She's stayed by my side
While all others simply put me aside.
I remember how I'd stare at the stars
while riding in the car.
I would wonder if I could reach them,
and if I did,
would I be condemned.
I voiced my worries to her,
And she told me where they were.
"Don't you worry child,
Go and pursue everything you think wild,
'Cause you are always welcome here,
And I'll always adhere."
She smiled at me,
and at once I felt free.
Let me tell you about
This Guardian of Mine
No matter where I go,
Her words will always follow.
She waits for me in my mind,
to give advice when I'm blind.
I've looked to her for comfort
When I've suffered.
She lends an ear
When I'm in fear.
She's shown me the stars
while taking care of my scars.
She's my protector,
Not only from my specters,
but also from the world,
even if we both whirled.
She's my guardian,
And will always me a part of me.
Oh, how I love
This Guardian of Mine
