•Y/N POV•

"It was all a huge misunderstanding, I promise," Jack tells me.

"Please just tell me what happened Jack," I repeat.

"I was talking to Gia that morning before we left, one of my best friends from back in Pennsylvania. We grew apart slightly but we recently got back to talking and once she found out that I was coming back home after tour she wanted to meet up, I promise she never was or will be anything more than a best friend to me," he explains to me.

I nod slowly. All of a sudden I feel my phone vibrate and a notification slides in to view. I go to swipe it away before I see that it's a DM from Bailey.

"I'll call you back in a bit, Bailey just DMed me, you're the first person I've spoken to outside of my family in 3 weeks and I just realized I haven't said a word to her," I say.

"Ok," Jack says simply, nodding as I hang up.

I stare at my phone in disbelief. This is really making Jack seem less believable. A tear rolls down my cheek but I don't notice it as I scroll through my contacts and press call when I reach his.

"Y/N? Are you crying?" he asks, picking up after just a couple of rings. "What happened."

"Check your DMs," I whisper, choking on my words.

He pauses his screen as he goes to check his Instagram DMs from me. It takes him a few moments but he returns with a sad look on his face.

"Please, Y/N, you need to believe me. Whatever she says, whatever she feels towards me I assure you the feeling isn't mutual. I don't want to be anything more than friends with Gia, I want you," I've never seen Jack look so sad in my life and it breaks my heart. But it also breaks my heart because I want to believe him but I can't.

"I love you too Jack but even as much as I do, just as I was starting to believe that we were fine, that nothing happened at all, her comment.." I trail off. "I'm sorry Jack, I can't get back with you, not yet."

•Jack POV•

I have to get her back. I'll get Y/N back if it's the last thing I do. I love her too much to lose her. I'll fly back to England if I have to just to prove that I love her and only her.

Hopefully I'll get back into a normal update schedule again soon, I've been on holiday for the last week which is why I haven't and I've also got some tests to revise for.
