Present time

"Tae, can you stop shouting in my ear?" Jisoo asked mock-exasparatedly at her brother from the phone as she waited for the other passengers to disembark. From the other side of the phone, the younger Kim pouted.

"You've always been mean, noona. It's been two years."

She giggled at his aegyo-filled voice. "Well, you'll be seeing me in a few minutes. Is Jin-oppa going to be here?"

The brown-haired boy checked his Rolex, fighting the urge to click his tongue then looked at the other cars, knowing his hyung was going to be late. "He's running a little late," Taehyung laughed sheepishly. "Hopefully. Don't worry about your stuff, we'll handle it."

All the while she disembarked the plane and walked towards the arrival hall, her younger brother chattered about all the things she had missed during her stay in New York. It was a hard decision, obviously, but it was the best one at the time. The process was grueling but it was going to pay off... right?

As soon as Jisoo stepped put of the airport, strong arms wrapped around her torso and she found herself buried in the man's chest. Looking up, she found herself smiling once she saw the familiar box-shaped smile of her younger brother.

"Yah! How dare you grow taller than me, Kim Taehyung!"

The smile immediately set her at ease. She wrapped her arms around him and relished in the feeling of being near her brother again, still it left her bewildered at how much two years could change a person. The smile only widened on her face when he buried his face in her black locks.

"I missed you so much, Ji-noona."

She could feel tears forming in her eyes as she chuckled. "I missed you too, Taehyungie."

The sound of someone clearing their throat broke them apart yet he kept a hand on the small of her back while she turned around to see who it was.

"You look beautiful but not as beautiful as me."

The familiar voice made her squeal with happy recognition at the two men, the one with honey blond hair was chuckling softly while the other one had black hair under his cap and a box of fried chicken in his hands.

"Jin-oppa! Hoseok-oppa!"

All of them laughed as she tackled the older Kim in a hug, opting to give the Jung a side hug in greeting. Feeling a bit left out, the youngest joined in the group hug.

Jung Hoseok used to be one of her closest friends ever since their cousin Namjoon introduced him to their group. He was also the best friend of her ex-boyfriend whose, admittedly petty, name she refuses to speak. But it was a comfort to know that he hadn't changed much, compared to her brothers. "You haven't grown any taller, have you?"

The brunette pouted while lightly punching his arm. "It hurts to see my dongsaeng taller than me, don't rub salt in the wound!"

The three men laughed at her, while she pretended to look annoyed yet she couldn't help but stare at the mirth in their features.

The eldest of the siblings gently pried off the hands of his brother but kept his sister's on his, smiling down at her fondly. "We should head home now for dinner."

"That's the only thing important to you, hyung." Taehyung zinged, smiling a sickly sweet smile.

Seokjin glowered at him, only softening when the black-haired girl held unto his arm to break their staring match. He patted her head. "You do know you're important to me, right?"

A smug grin replaces her soft one. "Whether you like it or not."

"That's my girl." The eldest smiled once more, ushering all of them back to his car after he made instructions to have the other car and her luggage to be delivered to their house in a bit. The tension left his shoulders at her arrival but worry was starting to seep in his bones. She won't be safe for long.

They sent her away because they couldn't keep her safe but now they can.

Hopefully.
