tick tock

rain never bothered me,

but it seems this constant plague of time does.

tick tock

death knocks at my door,

i ignore it, feeling the flowers in my lung droop.

tick tock

my eyes lull close, but i fight it,

my heart is like an alarm in my ears, loud and alerting.

tick tock

my life is waning by,

threading onto a blanket i only wish to burn once i am lowered into my grave.

tick tock

sweat drips by my forehead,

clings to my heated skin, clench my eyes shut.

tick tock

there is a prickling feeling in my stomach,

and it spreads like a wildfire to my mind, i call it anxiety.

tick tock

is my head on backwards,

that my thoughts seem to rush in all at once and mix up.

tick tock

i long for my time to end,

until then, i wait for these seconds to turn into minutes, and into hours, to days, to months, to years.
